Belarus and the Vladimir Region will explore new areas of cooperation in the exchange sector. This was discussed during a meeting between representatives of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange and business circles of Russia's Vladimir Region, the BUCE press service told BELTA.
The development of electronic exchange trading in non-commodity goods with high added value, import substitution, and mutual participation in corporate procurement were given special attention. The meeting was held at the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the aim of strengthening trade ties and industrial cooperation between Belarusian and Vladimir small and medium-sized businesses.
According to BUCE, this year, trading participants from the Vladimir Region have significantly increased the value of transactions on the Belarusian exchange platform – from $117,000 in January-August
2024 to $2.3 million in January-August 2025. This was facilitated by the expansion of the commodity range on the exchange through the organization of deliveries of Belarusian powdered
MILK and butter to the Vladimir region, as well as the sale of ferrous metal products manufactured by Vladimir metallurgical enterprises on the Belarusian market.
Further increases in the volume and number of exchange transactions between Belarusian and Vladimir companies are planned through more active use of BUCE instruments in the procurement of such product groups as equipment, motor vehicles, special-purpose machinery, electrical equipment, and industrial tools. The exchange's press service emphasized that this will allow both parties to realize their
EXPORT potential and promptly meet the demand for import-substituting products.
Currently, 37 business entities from the Vladimir region are accredited with BUCE, four of which began participating in exchange trading in 2025.
