In 2020, Russian producers produced 330 thousand tons of turkey meat

The FINMARKET.RU agency compared the contradictory results of the activities of the leading Russian manufacturers in 2020. Some companies in this segment of the poultry industry increased revenue and net profit, while others suffered losses. 

In particular, the main financial indicators of Tambovskaya Turkey Company (JV PJSC Cherkizovo Group and the Spanish holding Grupo Fuertes) testify to the positive dynamics of production development. Last year, it received revenue in the amount of 6.9 billion against 6.3 billion rubles in 2019 (+9.4%). Gross profit of Tambovskaya Turkey increased from 550.9 million to 708.4 million rubles (+28.6%), and net profit - from 124.8 million to 182.3 million rubles (+46.1%).

The Tula turkey producer Krasnobor, after an unsuccessful 2018, completed 2019 with a profit of 153.2 million rubles, but last year it again reduced the profitability of the business. The company suffered a loss in the amount of 193.4 million rubles. The company's revenue in 2020 decreased from 3.8 billion to 3.6 billion rubles (-5.5%), gross profit - from 583.9 million to 267.1 million rubles (-54.3%).

The net loss of the Agro-plus company (Stavropol Territory) in 2020 increased by 8.7 times: up to 334.8 million against 38.3 million rubles in 2019. Revenue for the year increased from 1.97 billion to 2 billion rubles (+1.9%), gross profit decreased from 204.4 million to 131.8 million rubles (-35.5%).

The Udmurt company Askor increased its net profit by 3.8 times: from 7.1 million rubles in 2019 to 27.6 million rubles in 2020. The revenue of Askor LLC increased from 499.3 million to 685.7 million rubles (+37.7%), and gross profit increased by 2.5 times: from 45.7 million to 114.9 million rubles.

The leader of the Russian turkey market, the Damate group of companies, has not yet published financial statements, but it is known that a subsidiary of the Indyushkin Dvor holding (a tenant of Eurodon assets) suffered a net loss of 325.1 million rubles in 2020 and received 253.9 million rubles in revenue.

According to the consulting company Agrifood Strategies, last year Russian turkey producers produced 330,000 tons of poultry MEAT, 54,000 tons more than in 2019 (+20.7%). Their total revenue for 2020 exceeded 50 billion rubles. 

Subject to a favorable epizootic situation for bird flu in 2021, Agrifood Strategies predicts an increase in turkey meat production up to 400 thousand tons (+ 20%).
