Livestock support measures

A wide range of measures is being implemented to stimulate the development of livestock farming in RUSSIA. One of the key instruments is preferential credit programs, which include both revolving and investment lending for up to 15 years. These measures are aimed at supporting both large agricultural holdings and small farms. In addition, direct support measures are provided at the regional and federal levels, which allows for an effective response to the needs of the industry and ensures its stable development.

Increase in MEAT production

Stable growth in the raw material base directly affects the production of food and processing industry products. In 2024 , 2.5 million tons of sausages were produced in Russia, which is 1.6% more than in the previous year. There is also growth in the segment of meat and meat-containing semi-finished products - 4.9 million tons (+ 4.7%) and canned meat - 913 thousand tons (+ 1.9%). These figures confirm not only the increase in production volumes, but also the growing interest of consumers in high-quality meat products.

Self-sufficiency and consumption

it is important to note that self-sufficiency in meat and meat products in Russia exceeds 100%. This means that the country is able to fully satisfy domestic demand for meat products, which is a significant achievement for the agricultural sector. According to Sergey Yushin, HEAD of the National Meat Association, the growth in processing production is primarily due to the increased demand for animal protein against the background of an increase in disposable income of the population.

Future prospects

According to experts, the growth in consumption of the main types of meat will continue in 2025. This is due to changes in consumer preferences, as well as an improvement in the economic situation in the country. It is important to note that in the context of global competition, Russian producers should focus on the quality and safety of their products, which will help not only maintain the domestic market, but also enter EXPORT markets.

Thus, the Russian meat industry is demonstrating positive trends, and given the government support measures, as well as growing demand from the population, we can expect further growth in meat production in the coming years.
