Rosselkhoznadzor: 1.4 billion heads of cattle have already been registered in Horriot

Registration of animals in the Horriot system began in October 2021. This module (a component of the VetIS system) was developed specifically for the identification and accounting of animals. Also among its functions are the traceability of livestock products and the registration of outbreaks of infectious diseases.

Ravil Bikbaev, HEAD of the technical support department of the Information and Computing Center of the Federal Center for Animal HEALTH, noted that now cattle are the most registered in the individual accounting mode, small ruminants are in second place and pigs are in third.

Pigs are registered both individually and in groups, said Ravil Bikbaev. In addition, groups enter information about poultry, fish and bees.

The Horriot integration with other ROSSELKHOZNADZOR systems is currently being worked out . Horriot is already linked to the Cerberus system. “Currently, information about livestock enterprises is being transmitted from the Cerberus system to Horriot. In order to register an animal in Horriot , the enterprise must be registered in the Cerberus system,” said Ravil Bikbaev.

Information about animals in the Horriot component is entered by employees of state veterinary services. “Veterinarians have their own accounts for working in the Horriot system, and they enter information about animals that business entities provide there,” explained the representative of ARRIAH. He added that more than 8.5 thousand users are now registered in Horriot.

The expert clarified that for now, Horriot is available only in the web interface, and by the end of the year an API will be implemented that will allow you to configure integration with external animal identification systems, such as RegAgro.
