The development of this sector is driven not only by domestic demand, but also by exports. Poland is one of the largest exporters of eggs to the EU . The main market for Polish products is the European Union. Community market demand has the greatest influence on EXPORT volumes.
Most chicken egg farms are located in the Wielkopolska and Mazowieckie voivodeships. it is from these two regions that 62% of domestic egg production comes from.
In 2021, the volume of egg exports from Poland decreased due to the CORONAVIRUS pandemic. However, the situation changed in 2022 and 2023, when foreign egg sales returned to levels exceeding 200 thousand tons. According to preliminary data from the Ministry of Finance, 215 thousand tons of eggs were sold abroad in 2023, which is slightly lower than in 2022 (221 thousand tons).
Egg exports to the EU in 2023 amounted to 188 thousand tons worth 366 million euros. This suggests that Poland is successfully meeting the needs of European consumers for this product.
