Report of the Acting Deputy HEAD of the Department of ROSSELKHOZNADZORin the Novosibirsk and Tomsk regions of Aleksey Magerov had a clear focus on the adoption by all authorized bodies of additional measures, as well as strict observance by economic entities of veterinary and sanitary rules. Citing the statistics of the World Organization for Animal HEALTH, the representative of the agency dwelled on the dynamics of the spread of AIV both on the territory of foreign countries and on the territory of the Russian Federation, drawing attention to the rapidity of infection of gulls that live near settlements and feed on waste dumps. He noted that garbage accumulations in the form of landfills or landfills, being sources of natural fires, become places for seagulls to live permanently or stop on their migration path, contributing to the further development of the epizootic. So,Rosselkhoznadzor over the past 5 years has identified more than 10 thousand landfills on agricultural land on an area of ​​about 9.8 thousand hectares. Given that the Novosibirsk region is located on one of the eight main migration routes and has a commercially developed poultry industry, the region remains at a high risk of virus introduction and penetration. 

For reference: in 2022-2023. specialists of the department of state land supervision, control in the field of the use of pesticides and agrochemicals of the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Novosibirsk and Tomsk regions on the territory of agricultural land established 50 places of littering of the fertile soil layer with production and consumption waste, municipal solid waste on an area of ​​20.08 hectares. At the same time, 12 of them, on a total area of ​​13.51 hectares, are located on agricultural land plots, the owners or managers of which are local governments. Currently, Rosselkhoznadzor specialists continue to work on identifying places of illegal waste storage and promptly informing the executive authorities of the Novosibirsk Region. 

With regard to preventing the introduction and spread of ASF , Alexey Magerov once again emphasized the importance of continuing monitoring laboratory studies in 2023 along with ensuring the previously established measures to prevent the introduction and spread of the disease. Thus, the participants of the emergency anti-epizootic commission of the Novosibirsk region expressed a unified position on the inadmissibility of unauthorized movement of pigs, pig products, feed and feed additives, the use of food waste for animals without heat treatment, the illegal sale of pig products that have not undergone heat treatment, especially on street spontaneous places of implementation. 

In addition, they recalled the strategic importance of strict compliance with veterinary legislation by all business entities involved in the livestock and poultry industries. 

Based on the results of the meeting, a list of coordinated actions of federal and regional executive authorities to ensure biological safety and prevent the emergence and spread of foci of contagious animal diseases in the Novosibirsk Region was determined, and it was also noted that extensive explanatory work with the population and manufacturers is a significant help in the region . pig products at all levels of authorized bodies.
