Meat prices in Iran have risen sharply

According to the Iranian Statistical Center, food and beverage inflation in the country stood at 45.1% for the year. Beef and poultry prices rose a record 93.3% in January of this year . This means that the cost of a kilogram of beef increased from 300,000 Iranian rials (about 2 US dollars ) to 570,000 Iranian rials (about 4 US dollars), and the cost of a kilogram of chicken MEAT increased from 150,000 Iranian rials (about 1 US DOLLAR) to 285 000 Iranian rials (about 2 US dollars). Rising meat prices are due to a number of factors, including: Increased demand for meat due to population growth and changing eating habits. Insufficient meat supplies due to drought and other natural disasters. Increase in prices for animal feed. Weakening of the Iranian currency. Rising meat prices have had a negative impact on consumers, especially those on low incomes. Meat is an important source of protein and other nutrients, and rising prices could lead to poor public HEALTH. Also, rising meat prices have had a negative impact on enterprises associated with the meat industry. Meat shops and restaurants are forced to increase prices for their products, which can lead to the loss of customers. The Iranian government is trying to take measures to stabilize meat prices, but so far these efforts have not brought significant results.
