January 25, Mogilev. In 2022, 734 fires occurred in the Mogilev region. This was announced by the first deputy HEAD of the department Andrey Gaisenok during the final collegium of the Mogilev regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, BelTA informs.

According to him, the situation in the region with fires and deaths in them in 2022 was stabilized. On the territory of the Mogilev region last year there were 734 fires, which killed 78 people. The main causes of fires are careless handling of fire, violation of fire safety rules during the operation and installation of furnaces and electrical equipment. Andrei Gaisenok also noted that an increase in the number of fires was recorded in four districts of the region: Glussky, Dribinsky, Kruglyansky districts and in Bobruisk. Most of those killed in fires were recorded in Bobruisk, Dribinsky, Kostyukovichsky, Slavgorodsky, Chaussky districts and Bobruisk.

Among the reasons for the incident, he noted that 35% are fires due to careless handling of fire, 21% are violations of fire safety requirements during the construction and operation of furnaces and heat generating devices. The main cause of death in fires is careless handling of fire: 69 people died, of which 49 were due to careless handling of fire when smoking. Of the 77 adults who died, 55 were under the influence of ALCOHOL at the time of the fire .

As the first deputy head of the regional administration emphasized, among the causes contributing to the death of people in fires are drunkenness and ALCOHOLISM, and unemployment. Among the categories of the dead, pensioners and the disabled, residents of rural areas dominate. "Last year, the main vector of work was aimed at carrying out preventive work with the involvement of all interested subjects of prevention and ensuring the implementation of measures to prevent offenses that contribute to the occurrence of fires and deaths from them in the housing stock. This year this work will be continued", he noted.

Deputy Chief Dmitry Isachenko in his speech noted that over the past year a number of complex fires were eliminated, where the units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations showed professionalism and well-coordinated actions. The regional emergency departments made almost 4.3 thousand combat trips, which is 5% higher than in 2021. Last year, emergency workers rescued 131 people. In 2022, the operational control center received 55 messages about the lost. As a result of organized search work, 67 people were found, of which 36 people were rescued.

Another area of ​​activity of employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is the prevention of death of people on the water. Last year, almost 5,000 preventive measures were carried out in the region, more than 121,000 people took part in them, of which almost 70,000 were children. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations carried out almost 1.8 thousand raids. In 64 cases, employees were on duty in places of recreation near the water.

In 2022, to equip the emergency rescue units of the Mogilev region, the ministry transferred 22 units of fire rescue equipment, of which 15 heavy-type tankers with a capacity of fire extinguishing agents of 5 tons, two ladders with a lifting height of 32 m, two search and rescue vehicles with off-road all-terrain vehicle. At the expense of the regional budget, two special cars of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were purchased, as well as fire extinguishing equipment and components for emergency equipment.

The participants of the final collegium were Anatoly Dolgolevets, Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations, and Sergey Demidov, Head of the Mogilev Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

In his closing speech, the Deputy Minister thanked the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Mogilev Region for their work, and also set tasks for the team for 2023. According to him, the main thing remains the preservation of life and HEALTH of people, the protection of economic facilities from emergency situations, and the improvement of the readiness of government bodies to act in the event of a threat and emergency situations.
