Hemp diet for cows left the old woman with three years in prison

A Jewish pensioner received a suspended sentence of three years for feeding her cows with hemp, which she grew in her garden. According to the radio station "Echo of Moscow", the police found 61 roots of a banned plant in the old woman's garden plot in Birobidzhan.

As the woman herself assures, she used hemp as food for her animals and had no idea what the name of the grass that grew in her garden was called. Also, according to the old woman, the cows really liked this "feeding".

Nevertheless, the policemen claim that the hostess was fully aware of the crime being committed. According to law enforcement officers, the hemp was carefully weeded, piled up and well camouflaged in the beds with potatoes and pumpkins.

The woman was charged under the article "growing illegal plants containing narcotic substances, committed on an especially large scale."
