About 15,000 dairy cows arrived in Mexico from Australia

Over the course of nearly two months, more than 15,000 head of cattle arrived in Mazatlán through docks temporarily set up to receive the animals .

Mazatlán National Port System Authority Director Mariel Aquileo Ancona Infanzón confirmed that three shipments containing approximately 15,000 cows have arrived, with another expected in July.

“We already have several proposals from various new companies to attract more cows for fattening and breeding cattle,” he said.

Ancona Infanzón recalled that on March 24, the first batch of 4,751 dairy cows, of which 1,400 were pregnant, arrived from Australia and were sent to Chihuahua, Aguascalientes and Guanajuato.

The second event occurred on April 24, when 4,995 Holstein cattle arrived and were distributed to Durango and Jalisco.

The latest shipment arrived on June 17, also from Australia, containing 4,751 dairy cows , with another shipment due next month.

Asipona's director noted that if they meet the requirements set by customs and Senasica, they will continue to accept them to continue working in this highly specialized business.
