Spring field work began in the Tomsk region

The first to enter the fields were the farmers of the Letyazhye peasant farm of the Kozhevnikovsky district.
The farm began fertilizing winter crops with mineral fertilizers. Fertilizers were applied on the first 300 hectares of crops.
Spring field work in the region began two weeks earlier than last year.
“It was possible to enter the fields earlier due to the fact that the snow cover was small and in some fields it had already completely disappeared,” said Vladimir Selikhov, HEAD of the Letyazhye farm. “Next, weather permitting, will be harrowing winter crops and nailing moisture.”
Letyazhye is one of the largest grain producers in the region. Every year the farm produces 8% of the total grain harvested in the Tomsk region. The average yield at the enterprise in 2021 was 35 q/ha in bunker weight.
In total, according to the plan, in 2022 the area under crops in the Tomsk region will reach 332 thousand hectares. For this year's harvest, winter crops have already been sown on 15.2 thousand hectares. For variety change and variety renewal, Tomsk agrarians purchased more than 4 thousand tons of seeds of higher reproductions, prepared 141.8 thousand hectares of plough land, and transported 387.2 thousand tons of organic fertilizers to the fields.
