In the Stavropol Territory began collecting early varieties of apples

The collection of early summer varieties of apples has begun in the Stavropol Territory. The first 1,000 tons of the new crop have already been harvested by the farmers of the Georgievsky, Trunovsky and Izobilnensky districts. Traditionally, the collection was opened with the Geneva variety, which is distinguished by winter hardiness and a stable yield, the fruits are large and are popular with buyers due to their flavor and aroma properties.
In the structure of the varietal composition of the region, summer varieties of apples range from 6-10%.
“Governor Vladimir Vladimirov pays great attention to the development of the sub-sector; in 2022, more than 511.4 million rubles are provided to support horticulture, as part of the implementation of the state program of the Stavropol Territory “Development of Agriculture”, including 473.2 million rubles from the federal budget, from the regional budget of 38.1 million rubles,” said the Minister of Agriculture of the region Sergey Izmalkov.
Thanks to state support measures for the development of the horticultural industry, the gross production of fruit and berry products in the Stavropol Territory has doubled since 2015.
