USAU scientists will tell farmers about the psychology of animal behavior

The event will take place on May 11 as part of the fund for supporting graduates of the Farmer's School of the Russian Agricultural Bank in the Sverdlovsk Region. All interested agricultural producers
can take part in the round table "Psychology of cattle behavior" . The expert of the event will be Professor of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Expertise of the Ural State Agrarian University, DOCTOR of Veterinary Sciences O.G. Petrov. Experts believe that the psychological state of farm animals directly affects their productivity. For example, according to some scientists, more than 21% of farmers said that cows are afraid of people, and in 46% of farms workers addressed cows by name - and it was in these herds that MILK yields turned out to be above average (every year each
cow gave about 258 liters of milk more than her unnamed compatriots).
At the round table, the scientist will talk about how stress affects animals, how to increase milk yield, calm animals in case of anxiety, and how understanding of animal psychology affects the development of agribusiness.
“Animals can experience simple emotions and are affected by more complex psychological processes, such as the emotional contagion effect. This is especially evident in vast areas. Knowing the psychology of animal behavior helps farmers a lot. It is not easy to "understand" the soul of an animal, but the result depends on it. Let's talk about this," commented Olga Grigoryevna Petrova, Professor of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Expertise of the Ural State Agrarian University, Doctor of Biological Sciences.
The event will be held online . Participation is free. To register, you need to send an application to ChirkovaML@sverdlovsk.rshb.ru by May 10 inclusive.
