March 1, Minsk . A Minsk resident paid in stores 15 times with someone else’s bank card. BELTA was informed about this by the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

A man contacted the Central District Department of Internal Affairs of the capital and said that he had lost his bank card, from which more than Br150 was subsequently written off.

Operatives of the cybercrime department established that the applicant’s means of payment was used by a 54-year-old Minsk resident. The defendant paid with someone else’s card 15 times at various retail outlets in Minsk; he used the victim’s money to buy food andalcohol . The detainee explained to law enforcement officers that he found a bank card on the street and decided to use it.

Investigators opened a criminal case for theft of property by modifying computer information.

The police remind you that if you find someone else's card, you must take it to the bank. You should not leave someone else’s means of payment “waiting for the owner in a visible place,” much less make purchases with it.
