"I should have become a teacher, but chose the police." A young district police officer from Grodno told about his work

4 March, Grodno. A young district police inspector of the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Grodno, Senior Police Lieutenant Aleksey Khilyuta, shared with a BELTA correspondent his story of choosing a profession and also told why he loves his job.

Aleksey Khilyuta began serving in law enforcement agencies in August 2021. "I always wanted to join either the army or the police. At some point, my friends suggested that you can join the police, including after graduating from a civilian university. I was happy about this, found out everything and immediately applied," the man admits. Thus, after graduating from the Biology Department of the Yanka Kupala Grodno State University with a degree in Biotechnology, Aleksey went tolaw enforcement officers .

it is noteworthy that he had no examples in his close circle. "I have a lot of teachers in my family. And I went to the biology department following the example of close relatives, but then I realized that I would be a policeman. I left for the authorities following the call of my heart," says Aleksey Khilyuta.

The young policeman was not afraid of the difficult work schedule and great responsibility.

"The schedule is made. It is very flexible. Each time is different. You understand, criminals, offenders do not sleep. Something happens both at night and during the day, so you have to work like that. There are also daily shifts, work on weekends," says Aleksey, noting that this is the only drawback in the profession, the choice of which he has never regretted. - For me personally, it is sometimes difficult to adjust to different work shifts. But in general, if you make a plan and distribute your time correctly, then everything becomes possible. The main thing is to put everything in its place, then you won’t miss anything and you’ll get all the work done.”

As expected, the man has his own administrative area. “We communicate with citizens, check those under our control, conduct conversations. We try to keep everything under control so that they don’t remember their past and improve. Some of these citizens find work. Some have never worked before, and we have to convince them of the importance of leading a social lifestyle,” the district inspector shares the nuances of his work.

Alexey has to work out calls that come to the 102 line. “You need to be prepared for different things, so physical fitness is also important. I go to the gym, I work out for myself and enjoy it,” he noted. By the way, in his free time, the district inspector reads and draws.

Naturally, Alexey has to communicate a lot due to his job. “People are constantly contacting me. If they have a problem or a question, it may not even be within the police officer's competence. But you always answer, help, redirect if necessary. For example, you have to help with neighbors: someone abuses ALCOHOL, someone is unfriendly or behaves strangely. And the fact that I can help people, in my opinion, is the importance and even prestige of the police profession," the man shares. And he brings out the key rule of law enforcement: "Everything starts with polite, correct communication. The most important thing, as for me, is to listen to the person. After all, most often people come with problems. And the first thing they want is to feel understood, that you are ready to listen to them. A person opens up only in this case."
