In the Vitebsk region, the traffic police fined more than 250 pedestrians for traffic violations over the weekend

February 26, Minsk . Over the past weekend, traffic police inspectors of the Vitebsk region brought 253 pedestrians to administrative responsibility for violating traffic rules. BELTA was informed about this by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

Over the past weekend, 44 traffic accidents with property damage were registered on the roads of the Vitebsk region, of which 28 accidents occurred in the regional center.

State traffic inspectors from the northern region of the republic also detained eight drunk drivers and seven disenfranchised drivers over the weekend. 

According to the traffic police, out of 253 fined pedestrians, 24 were in a statealcohol intoxication , 108 - without reflective elements.

RoadThe police strongly recommend that drivers choose a safe speed and distance from the vehicle in front, be extremely careful while driving, and take into account weather and road conditions. Pedestrians must strictly comply with the requirements of traffic rules and identify themselves as flickers at night.
