Epizootic situation for especially dangerous animal diseases in the world from March 1 to March 31, 2022

In March 2022, the World Organization for Animal HEALTH (OIE) received reports of the registration of especially dangerous diseases in countries around the world. The corresponding notifications were published on the official website of the OIE.

On the territory of Australia (38 foci) an outbreak of Japanese encephalitis was registered in the pig population. An increase in the number of abortions or stillbirths and mummified fetuses has been reported in the states of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. The presence of the virus in the Torres Strait region was previously reported in 2014.

The Veterinary Services of Singapore (1) have recorded an outbreak of avian mycoplasmosis caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum for the first time since 1986.

Infectious nodular dermatitis was first reported in Indonesia (31) and Singapore (1). The disease continues to be reported in Cambodia (2).

In Albania (5) a disease of birds with highly pathogenic influenza (type H5N8) was detected. Avian influenza was previously reported in the country in June 2021.

Ongoing outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza have been reported by Austria (1), Belgium (10), Bulgaria (1), United Kingdom (36), Hungary (3), Germany (56), Greece (10), Denmark (12), India (3 ), Israel (1), Ireland (9), Spain (25), Italy (4), CANADA (13), Nepal (23), Nigeria (34), Netherlands (48), Poland (8), Portugal (5 ), Romania (6), Slovakia (4), usa (63), Taiwan (9), Philippines (29), Finland (2), France (675), Czech Republic (1), Sweden (5), Switzerland ( 2), South Africa (6), SOUTH KOREA (38), Japan (35).

Newcastle disease has been reported in Israel (6) and Switzerland (1).

New foci of African swine fever have been reported in Hungary (108), Germany (102), Hong Kong (1), Italy (31), CHINA (1), Latvia (54), Poland (505), Romania (69), North Macedonia (1), Thailand (23), South Africa (2), South Korea (22).

FMD type O has been reported in Israel (35); SAT2 - in South Africa (12).

Japan has (1) classical swine fever. Plague of small ruminants in Morocco (3). In Melilla (3), cases of rabies continue to be detected among stray animals. Aujeszky's disease is recorded among wild boars on farms at hunting grounds in France (1). In Namibia (3) foci of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia have been reported.
