The total area of ​​the apple orchard is about two hectares. The main varieties of apples that the farm specializes in are fuji, golden, gala and others.
Each tree in the third year after planting gives about 30 kg. apples. And according to the results of last year, more than 30 tons of crops were received from the entire garden.
All varieties of apples are brought from Italy. The entire technological map for growing apples was also provided by Italian specialists.
Approximately 6,000 apple trees were planted per hectare according to the following planting pattern: 4 meters between rows and 60 cm between trees in a row. This is due to the fact that the processing and harvesting of crops is carried out using a tractor.
Before planting seedlings, first, an irrigation system is carried out, then an anti-hail net is installed, since hail often occurs in Armenia, sometimes the size of a chicken egg, and at the end seedlings are planted.
The anti-hail net is produced in Armenia from Italian materials using Italian technologies. In addition to protection from hail, the mesh provides the necessary shade in hot weather, creates a thermal insulation layer and does not allow birds to spoil apples. At the same time, the state provides subsidies for the purchase by farmers of anti-hail nets and equipment for drip irrigation.
Apples are sold both in Armenian stores and exported to RUSSIA. To do this, the farm has its own refrigerator.
Water for drip irrigation of apple trees is taken both from a well and from Lake Sevan, which is 40 km away. it enters the storage tank, where it settles from dirt, after which it is fed through filters for irrigation.
Apple trees are treated for parasites and aphids every 6 days. 2 weeks before harvest, processing stops.
On an area of ​​2 hectares, the farm will not stop, as this was the first agricultural experience. And now, when all the processes and technologies have been worked out, work is underway to scale the business.
