Russian Railways will continue maintenance of the Sapsan and Lastochka trains after the German Siemens leaves Russia, RBC was told in the press service of Russian Railways.

“Maintenance of the Sapsan and Lastochka trains will continue within the framework of the current Russian legislation under the guidance and control of the Russian Railways holding,” the company said.

On May 12, the German company Siemens and its subsidiary Siemens Mobility announced their withdrawal from Russia and exit from joint ventures with Russian Railways. Siemens Mobility has established a network of depots in Russia for the maintenance and repair of the Sapsan and Lastochka trains, and its subsidiaries produce frequency converters and traction motors. The company associated its withdrawal from the country with Western sanctions against Russia.
