The situation with the accumulation of ambulances near hospitals is normal; in Moscow, the incidence of COVID-19 corresponds to the epidemic season, the Department of Health stated. Earlier, Baza reported about a queue of dozens of ambulances at IKB No. 1 and No. 2

In Moscow, there is no significant increase in hospitalizations; the situation with the incidence of COVID-19 and ARVI corresponds to the epidemic season. RBC was informed about this by the press service of the capital's Department of Health.

Earlier, the Baza telegram channel reported that a queue of dozens of ambulances had formed near infectious diseases hospitals No. 1 and No. 2, with the majority of patients suffering from pneumonia.

The department called it a normal situation when several ambulances arrive at the infectious diseases hospital at once with people awaiting hospitalization.

“Patients are received in Meltzer’s individual boxes. The new IKB No. 1 complex has only 12 boxes, and the hospital itself is designed for 1,000 beds. While the patient is being examined and registered, the car is waiting for the doctor. At this time, the next car with the patient can drive up to each box. Thus, the presence of up to 24 cars on the territory at the same time is standard practice during peak hours and is not a queue or an emergency situation,” the department explained.

In addition, the situation when there were about 23 cars on the territory of IKB No. 1 was resolved within half an hour, the department noted. In ICU No. 2, there are 11 boxes for receiving patients; therefore, the presence of 10 cars on the hospital premises is the absolute norm, the Department of Health added.

Earlier, on December 7, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, reported that in Russia, for the first time in three years, the incidence of influenza and COVID-19 was growing simultaneously. According to her, the number of hospitalizations is increasing, as well as the severity of illnesses.
