Demand for furniture production in Perm increased by 47%

In connection with the suspension of the supply of furniture and interior items by a number of foreign companies, Perm residents began to order furniture and decor elements from local craftsmen more actively. Repair and restoration services, which can give pieces of furniture a second life, are also popular among Perm residents. Especially for RBC Perm, Avito Services provided statistics on the demand for furniture repair and manufacturing services.

According to the service, the demand for the manufacture of custom-made furniture in Perm in April this year increased by 47% compared to the same period last year. Offers from private masters increased by 20% over the same time.

Services that give furniture a second life have recently become the most popular among Permians. Thus, private craftsmen and companies in Perm offer additional services for upholstering upholstered furniture or restoring floors, bathrooms, chairs, wooden tables, sofas and armchairs. To update the design of the apartment, you can also use the services of an artist who specializes in wall painting.

Along with services for the manufacture, repair and restoration of furniture in Perm, the demand for other services in the category of repair and housing construction is also growing.

According to the results of the 1st quarter, compared to the same period last year, Permians began to look for masters in this category by 19% more often. The highest dynamics of demand growth was noted for kitchen refurbishment services (demand increased 9 times), furniture assembly and repair (+40%) and bathroom refurbishment (+28%). The top demanded services also included electrical repairs (+26%), balcony glazing (+26%), and construction of bathhouses and saunas (+25%). The number of ads from craftsmen in the category of repair services increased by 17% over the same period.

After IKEA left the Russian market, Perm residents still had a request for designer furniture. According to Nikita Semyonov, the HEAD of the workshop for ordering furniture "Privet Maket", the demand for products has increased by about 30%. In recent days, a request for analogues of furniture from IKEA has become noticeable. However, at the moment, Perm craftsmen cannot offer cheap analogues.

“Here, the point is that when a person is looking for furniture that he previously saw in IKEA, he comes to us and sees a price that is significantly higher, since we make it to order. The buyer compares the price. We have nothing to offer here. But now, when we optimize prices specifically for the series, we will be able to meet this demand. That is, on the one hand, we will be able to please both,” says Nikita Semyonov, DIRECTOR of the private factory “Privet Maket”.

As for the cost of consumables, here businessmen did not notice an increase in prices, since their suppliers, in general, switched to the Chinese rails. However, the head of the private furniture workshop "Made by Beavers" Artyom Shein said in an interview with RBC Perm that now the cost of consumables has increased, which affects the final price of the product.
