Specialists of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces have created a CoviGen-LAMP kit that allows you to get a result regarding the presence of coronavirus in a sample in 30 minutes, the Russian Defense Ministry said, RIA Novosti reports.

“The kit ensures the detection of coronavirus in clinical samples within 30 minutes from the moment the material is taken, while in terms of its sensitivity and specificity it is not inferior to other medical devices,” the ministry said.

The kit contains a substance that allows you to inactivate the virus in a minute and immediately begin the study. His name is not disclosed in the Ministry of Defense. The kit does not require the preparation of samples for analysis, which is what allowed us to reduce the time of the study. The accuracy, according to the developers, is at least 95% - like PCR tests.

Rospotrebnadzor called the time for detection of "omicron" PCR test Society

Now the fastest way to diagnose is express testing by immunochromatographic analysis. The result can be obtained in 15–20 minutes, but due to the low sensitivity of the tests, there is a possibility of a false negative result.
