Putin and Biden held first talks in Geneva

The President of the United States , who proposed to hold these negotiations on April 13, arrived in Geneva the day before from Brussels and spent the night at the local Intercontinental Hotel. Vladimir Putin arrived from Moscow in time for the summit. At Villa La Grange, where the talks were held, the Russian and US presidents were met by their Swiss counterpart Guy Parmelin.

The talks began with a conversation in a narrow format - in addition to the presidents, they were attended by the heads of foreign affairs agencies Sergei Lavrov and Anthony Blinken. They lasted about two hours and after a short break continued in a more extended format of delegations.
