The work schedule of the President of Belarus is always very eventful. Alexander Lukashenko holds conferences and working meetings on the most pressing issues of the country's development, regularly visits the regions, makes foreign visits and receives foreign guests himself, communicates with journalists, signs decrees and laws... And even when there are no public events, this does not mean at all that the HEAD of state is not working. However, during the rest, whether it's hockey training or chopping wood, Alexander Lukashenko no, no, yes, and he will find a reason for the next assignment. As he likes to say, in everything one must proceed from life.

The "President's Week" project is for those who want to keep up with the head of state, to be aware of the most relevant statements and decisions of the Belarusian leader.

Is there any progress in the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region and what is the hottest issue for the region now; will there be a return on state support and investments, and to whom Lukashenka told to sit without a salary; whether the northernmost region of Belarus will be able to repeat the success of the Netherlands and when to wait for the release of a domestic viral vaccine into a series.

Details of the conversation with the head of state on the forest industry: why the President praised the foresters, and where more work needs to be done; how the sanctions affected economic performance and what to do with the fuel pellets that they planned to sell to the European Union; whether domestic lumber will become closer to the buyer and how the Ministry of Forestry started manufacturing wooden houses.

The main accents of the large-scale meeting at the Belarusian State University: why Lukashenka intends to visit universities more often, for which it was proposed to fire the rector of the Belarusian State University, whom the President asked "not to break each other's ribs" and what kind of mobilization will help save the country.

Details of the President's answers to pressing and pressing questions from journalists: what is the fate of Wagner PMC in Belarus after the death of its leader Prigozhin, could Putin have been involved in the plane crash, and how Lukashenko once saved Prigozhin from an assassination attempt.

And also about the possibility of border closures by Western neighbors, the beneficiaries of the hysteria around the Belarusian issue in Poland, migrants for whom the wall is not a hindrance, the results of the BRICS summit held in Johannesburg, the upcoming CSTO exercises and much more in the new issue of the BelTA special project "President's Week" .

VERIFICATION OF CLOCK. What tasks Lukashenka sets for the northernmost region of Belarus

On August 22, the head of state held a meeting on topical issues of the development of the Vitebsk region. The range of topics was wide - from the course of the harvesting campaign and the state of affairs in the agro-industrial complex as a whole to preparations for the upcoming Forum of Regions of Belarus and RUSSIA in 2024 and the production of domestic vaccines and medicines.

Alexander Lukashenko began his opening speech with one of the hottest questions - the course of the harvesting campaign. All the necessary decisions on the Vitebsk region have not only been adopted, but there are enough problematic issues in the agro-industrial complex of the region. After all, it was not just that recently the personnel potential of the region was strengthened by Igor Brylo, who replaced the post of head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food with the post of assistant to the President.

In the Vitebsk region, the harvesting of cereal grains is almost completed. There are still no less ambitious tasks ahead, such as harvesting corn (which did a good job this year), fodder for livestock needs, sowing winter crops, and much more.

Alexander Lukashenko directed everyone to active work and attention, especially to the Vitebsk region, which is problematic in terms of agriculture. But the same applies to the Gomel, Mogilev regions, and partly MINSK. In all matters it is necessary to put things in order, to achieve labor and technological discipline.

The President noted that the current meeting is only the beginning of a conversation, a sort of checking the clock for additional mobilization. But ahead are the results of the year, the completion of the harvesting campaign in the broad sense of the word. That is why the final results will be summed up closer to the end of the year, but the situation in the agro-industrial complex of the region will be returned more than once.

About the most important stage that is yet to come

The head of state drew attention to the fact that there are indeed objective factors in the form of drought, which the regional leadership can refer to, but this situation was not everywhere: “Half was dried up, half were normal crops. It was necessary to compensate for the shortage of crops in arid regions with a good harvest , for example, in the western regions.

Alexander Lukashenko

“If the Vitebsk region or other regions of our country lacked something in cereal grains, rapeseed, we have excellent corn. I warned the Deputy Prime Minister and the new Minister of Agriculture that the hardest and most important stage is ahead - to prepare and harvest corn. Especially for grain. Excellent corn is worth more than ever, an excellent harvest. And I am sure that if we remove everything, then we can get another two million tons of corn grain," the Belarusian leader said.

However, he warned that it is not worth simply chasing grain harvesting indicators, you need to approach the issue of corn harvesting taking into account local needs: “Harvesting corn for grain or for silage is your business. grain. If a good ear is formed, then the corn silage will be very good. Especially for the Vitebsk region. And for others too."

On the situation in the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region and problematic issues

Speaking about the situation directly in the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region, Alexander Lukashenko recalled that decree No. 70 was issued more than three years ago - the region received significant state support in the form of clearing debts, installment obligations for 15 years, and so on. After the tough men's conversation that took place then, there really is nowhere to retreat, and today the agricultural sector of the region really shows a positive trend in general, MILK production is growing . As Alexander Subbotin, head of the region, assures, the document worked and allowed the Vitebsk region to move forward.

But the current achievements are extremely insufficient, especially against the backdrop of ongoing problems, Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

For example, the number and production of livestock is declining, there is a shortage of raw materials, and the capacities of MEAT processing plants are not loaded. There is a weak discipline of payments for delivered agricultural products. "This is unacceptable! If the enterprise does not have money to pay off the peasants, give them from the budget. You yourself sit without a salary, but return the money to people . Especially for the delivered milk and meat," the head of state demanded.

Of course, time and circumstances force us to adapt to changing conditions on the go, the head of the region noted in an interview with journalists. Political, sanctions, economic pressure from outside sometimes corrects certain plans, but there are solutions and ways out of the situation. One of the main tasks is to learn how to sell domestic goods, which are already known as high-quality and environmentally friendly, more efficiently and brightly. "But it needs to be wrapped in even more colorful packaging," said Alexander Subbotin.

About the features of the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia

Alexander Lukashenko

One of the topics of the meeting was preparations for the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Vitebsk in the summer of 2024.

“We need to take the preparation as seriously as possible. I know that the general idea of the event has been proposed - science and innovation for the economic development of the union. We have something to offer our partners (the success of TIBO-2023 confirms this) and we have something to borrow from our Russian colleagues from science,” stressed head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that the upcoming Forum is another platform for new business ideas: from innovative developments to signing major contracts. "It is necessary to report on the developed concepts, organization plans and our chips, which we are ready to present to the people. Maybe it's time to invite partners from other countries to participate?" he suggested.

About the domestic vaccine and future plans

Albeit not the hottest, but the main issue, with which, as a result, the conversation began at the meeting, Alexander Lukashenko outlined the implementation of the most important project: the creation of a domestic antiviral vaccine at BelVitunifarm. By the way, the governor of the Vitebsk region Alexander Subbotin is a specialist in this field.

The construction of the plant should be completed this year. The first stage is behind us, an experimental batch of the vaccine has been released. The President recalled that technologies for the production of vaccines for animals have already been mastered in the Vitebsk region - the existing experience was also useful in creating drugs for humans.

The President inquired about the quality of the Belarusian drug received, how effective it is and in what time frame it will be possible to meet the country's needs for the vaccine. “For now, we are essentially vaccinating with someone else’s product,” he noted. “By the way, I publicly warn the Ministry of HEALTH that we will deal with the systemic cases of underwriting and mismanagement during the vaccination of the population identified by the State Control Committee in the most severe way.”

The head of state also asked to report on how the second stage is going: “Here, we should think about larger plans and expanding the product line so as not to be limited to one vaccine. As I am informed, there is a promising proposal for the production of antitumor drugs for the treatment of blood diseases. It is a very important direction. How are these plans linked to the fulfillment of my instruction to create a biotechnology cluster?"

In a conversation with journalists at the end of the event, Alexander Subbotin noted that this is one of the main points in the creation of a biotechnology cluster in the Vitebsk region : technology, it is high technology in the field of biotechnology - these are medicines , vaccines, seeds, high-bred breeding animals. Therefore, we also want to bet on this."

The President instructed to comprehensively work out the issue with several investors so that this undertaking would be profitable.

As for vaccines, following the meeting, the head of state instructed not to focus only on the covid vaccine. We need a flexible production that can respond to modern viral challenges. "So that this is a production that can labilely rebuild to meet the needs of today. It could be a vaccine against influenza, against other infections that will threaten us. This was the focus," said Boris Androsyuk, Deputy Minister of Health.

Nevertheless, primary preclinical trials of the released Belarusian vaccine showed its effectiveness. The test was carried out on animals. Work continues.

ORDER IN THE FOREST. How, after a year in office, the report to the President of the Minister of Forestry was passed

On August 24, Alexander Lukashenko heard a report on the work of forestry in modern conditions and directions for its improvement. For the profile minister Alexander Kulik, this was a particularly important milestone. A year has passed since he headed the department - it's time to hold the answer to the head of state for the work done.

"Almost half of the country is a forest. This is our property, given to us by God. And we must not only preserve it, but treat it as diligent owners. Remove ripe forest from the forest in time, process it so that the country will get the result of this work. It was many questions then to the former ministers, leaders, people who are related to forestry, therefore, from all the candidates, I chose your candidacy as an absolutely earthly person, who knows the forest well and treats it like a person who loves nature,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

"A year has passed. What has changed during this time? Especially in terms of EXPORT supplies, market diversification. We have a lot of low-grade raw materials in the forest, as you say, wood waste and so on. How do we remove all this from the forest, process it? What do we get from this job?" the President asked.

When appointing a new minister, another task was set - to reduce the cost of wood for the population, so that people would actively build housing in rural areas. "What is the system here? More of a question for the government, but also for you as a member of the government," the head of state said.

He also asked about the work on reforestation: “How is the work with planting material going? "

"Order in the forest is the most important thing," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.

At the event, the President highly appreciated the work of forestry enterprises in the past long period of heat and drought. Compared to a number of other countries where large-scale forest fires rage every now and then in such periods, Belarus managed to avoid such disasters. They heroically held out, but the country has everything for this, including the necessary domestic equipment.

The minister stressed that in 99.9% of cases, the causes of fires in forests are associated with the actions of people. "But I also want to say that the culture and responsibility of our population has noticeably increased. And people take care of it," he said.

About the historical maximum and the search for alternative markets

In the context of Western sanctions, the Ministry of Forestry in 2022 had to seriously restructure. Nevertheless, even in these conditions, the country managed to achieve a historical maximum in the export of sawn timber. “Before the sanctions, we exported 60,000 cubic meters of sawn timber every month, we sank a little in July 2022, when the sanctions came into effect, and now we have reached 77,000 cubic meters. This is the supply of sawn timber for export,” he reported. minister.

Before the sanctions, the main sales market for Belarusian sawn products were the EU countries (56% were supplied there, now supplies to the EU have stopped), now CHINA (52%, it was 37%), Azerbaijan (24%, it was 4% and Russia - 6) . %).

"The niche is filled, and most importantly, we have increased both in terms of volume and in millions of dollars. Over the past seven months, we have delivered products worth $90.4 million," said Alexander Kulik.

However, the President has criticized the economic efficiency. We need a product with a higher added value, we need to look for new sales markets, where the profitability and marginality of products will be higher. The President made clear the message that timber is the most valuable renewable domestic resource and should be sold at a higher added value.

Unfortunately, the sanctions really violated some of the plans that were built in the forest industry. So, at present, the problem of processing wood waste into fuel pellets is not being solved quickly enough. In Belarus, several years ago, they actively created such production facilities, including for the capacious market of the EU countries, which is now closed. "Unfortunately, our enemies (imposed sanctions. - approx. BelTA). People are freezing, but they are above the economy. We have all the possibilities. And simple firms (in the EU. - approx. BelTA) are looking for a way back. But this barrier which politicians have set for both them and us is hard to overcome," Alexander Kulik said.

However, Belarus is looking for new markets for these products. "I would not like to advertise it ahead of time. We already have developments. A certain amount will go," the minister added.

These products are also in demand in Belarus. In the Novogrudok district, a number of old boiler houses have already been converted to an automated system using fuel pellets, and this approach is showing its effectiveness.

About own trading floors and wooden houses

The President of Belarus supported the initiative of the Ministry of Forestry to promote its own trading floors under the single brand "Forest House". The head of state looked at the presented slides in detail and supported this idea, instructed to further develop it so that the products of the forestry enterprises are closer to the population.

Until recently, all products produced by the forestry enterprises of the sector were sold only through woodworking shops. To increase the availability of products for the population, a network of 15 trading floors has been created under the single Lesnoy Domik brand, which are located not only in regional centers, but also in large cities. Citizens are offered not only products produced by forestries, but also other Belarusian manufacturers. For example, enterprises of the concern "Bellesbumprom", paint and varnish products, hardware products.

Particular emphasis during the report was placed on providing the population with forestry products. In 2022, the head of state decree No. 294, which optimizes the mechanism for selling commercial timber to individuals at lower prices for the construction, reconstruction, repair of residential buildings or outbuildings. Today, citizens have the opportunity to purchase up to 70 cubic meters of wood for construction or reconstruction and up to 10 cubic meters for current repairs of such real estate at more affordable prices compared to exchange prices. In the first half of 2023 alone, 2.5 thousand citizens used this right.

In addition, in pursuance of the instructions of the head of state and government to reduce the cost of timber, forestries form prices for timber for the construction of housing in rural areas, including rental housing for employees of agricultural organizations and the population with a profitability of no more than 5%.

Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the need for control in this matter, so that goods at a reduced social price go to those who need them, and so that there are no abuses.

By the way, the Ministry of Forestry is also working on promoting wooden house kits of its own production to the market. "We have developed standard projects, we are legalizing them so that they are reusable. The main elements for building houses are sold by forestry enterprises on trading floors," Alexander Kulik told reporters.

Measures are already being taken to expand the range of types of houses offered. Taking into account the demand from the population, two design solutions for small houses have been additionally developed. As of July 1, 2023, 19 forestries have purchased equipment and are ready to produce the exhibited samples of house kits. By the end of the year, the number of manufacturers will be increased to 25.

CHECK BUT NOT MATH. Why Lukashenka came to Belarusian State University and how the King retained his post

At the end of the working week on August 25, Alexander Lukashenko arrived at the Belarusian State University. On the eve of September - the beginning of a new academic year. But not only this was the reason for a serious conversation in the administration. They discussed problematic issues in the functioning of the university, many of which are relevant for other universities. That is why rectors of higher educational institutions from all over the country were among the participants of the meeting.

But first, Alexander Lukashenko at the Belarusian State University with an exhibition, which included scientific developments. Complex of means for optical remote sensing of the Earth from the ISS; working models and systems of the educational laboratory of aerospace measurements. The university is also engaged in the design of satellites, most recently a second-generation satellite was successfully launched. Currently, engineering model systems are being developed that serve the satellite on the ground - these are antenna and optical systems. Veterinary preparations, ecologically safe biological preparations for plants were shown; unique developments of anticancer drugs, as well as spirometers for assessing the respiratory system; food additives for the bakery, meat, confectionery and beverage industries.

Alexander Lukashenko positively assessed what he saw, and then at the meeting he even noted that Belarusian State University in a number of areas is able to seriously compete with scientists from the National Academy of Sciences.

“BSU is not just a university. It is the history, the future of the country. Born during the formation of the Belarusian state, it has become the personification of the scientific and industrial power of modern Belarus,” the Belarusian leader noted. “What you are doing is top projects. And I knew that you are doing this, but I did not think that you had reached such a high level. We will pay very serious attention to this, if necessary, our industrialists. "

Enormous public funds have been invested in the modernization of the university, and they should work for the benefit of the country and the social sphere.

On the final polishing of the education system

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of state invited BSU rector Andrey Korol to say a few words on the topic of the day. The rector expressed his conviction that each of the participants of the event will leave the audience somewhat different in terms of both awareness and purpose.

“You said a good phrase that it is very desirable that not only you, but also I leave this meeting a little differently in terms of informing and so on. I urge you to do this,” Alexander Lukashenko said. “If there are any comments on education in Belarus as a whole, I will be very grateful to you. Now this is a resounding topic. On hearing. For me, this is one of the most important topics that should be finally and irrevocably identified this year."

"Of course, we will improve. You, as scientists , understand that there are no frozen processes in life at all. We will move forward in this regard. Education is the most important human factor, resource. The most important thing, I think, for a person is education. Then health and so on," the Belarusian leader stressed. "If a healthy person is not educated, you know what kind of person he is. This year we must finally polish our [education] system. develop so that neither parents nor our society react painfully to any innovations in the development of this system.

About problems in BSU and personnel issue

“It’s a sin to hide, various information about the processes taking place recently at the university reaches me. They alarm me,” the head of state noted. “Moreover, I remember 2020, where you showed yourself “brilliantly”. "I didn't make any comments. You probably noticed it. I didn't criticize you. I thought that you are an advanced part of our society and will eventually appreciate everything that you have done here. Or our children, first of all. Yes, and the teachers distinguished themselves, if you really frankly. Therefore, any negative trends, even the smallest ones, at the very beginning of their development, alarm me."

Alexander Lukashenko

The situation at BSU was carefully studied by various departments, open and closed meetings and conversations were held, certain information was received. This was done by the Presidential Administration, the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, the National Academy of Sciences and other state bodies. This was done so that there would be no mistakes when the head of state made decisions in the future. The reports addressed to the head of state indicated a number of significant problems in the functioning of the university, the main of which is the ill-conceived personnel policy of the leadership, the lack of involvement of the administration in administrative work, especially the rector.

The conclusion reached by responsible persons, including the Presidential Administration: the decentralization of the management vertical and the weak cohesion of the workforce are fraught with the loss of control over the university and the loss of leading positions in the scientific and educational fields.

As a result, the government , together with the Ministry of Education, the Presidential Administration proposed to change the rector. But Alexander Lukashenko did not draw hasty conclusions, because it is unacceptable to change the leadership in the country's leading university out of the blue. Both now and before, the President has always paid attention to the special atmosphere in universities, where, especially students, and often teachers, a certain free-thinking is inherent. For the university environment, this competition of various opinions and discussions is a completely natural and even necessary phenomenon. And it is also impermissible to interfere unnecessarily from the outside in the processes taking place in universities.

Minister of Education Andrey Ivanets reported on the situation at the Belarusian State University during the meeting, and Head of the Presidential Administration Igor Sergeenko informed in detail about the shortcomings in the activities of the management vertical, gaps in work with personnel.

Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova, Minister of Information Vladimir Pertsov expressed their position. The President also carefully listened to the reports and opinions of the leadership of the Belarusian State University, talked with the deans of the faculties, the teaching staff of the university to find out their position on the situation at the university. As it turned out, they were positive, noted new positive approaches in the educational process and the development of the material base of the university. Yes, and BSU has significantly strengthened its position in the international ranking in recent years. All the shortcomings, the university staff emphasized, they are ready to eliminate and, if necessary, reorganize their work.

As a result, Alexander Lukashenko did not make radical personnel decisions. He recalled that when Andrey Korol was appointed rector at BSU, he deliberately took a person from outside: “It was not my idea: if there is no new blood flow, the system may die. Therefore, we selected a young, prominent, handsome person who was supposed to come to BSU - a difficult university but very important. And you noticed that I took it from the west (before being appointed to BSU, Andrei Korol worked as rector of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. - Approx. BelTA). I was not afraid that he was in the west, where We had a lot of problems."

The President stressed that from the whole situation and the results of the discussion, "a smart person will draw a conclusion from this." Andrei Korol retains his post, but the control will be serious, Alexander Lukashenko warned.

Addressing the rector, the President said: "I beg you, do not let me down. In this case, I do not consider the existence of facts sufficient to interfere in the personnel policy at the university and make any radical decisions on the leadership of the university."

“I think that this conversation of ours was useful for all of us. Both for you and for me. Please, all those present, draw the appropriate conclusions from this conversation of ours. And aim at giving results,” the Belarusian leader summed up. "So get ready for work. And go ahead, don't stop. And you need to demand. And don't think that the President came here, arranged some kind of showdown. There were no showdowns. I believe that the current team, the current university leadership can and is capable of work".

About plans to visit universities more often and a signal to "resting on their laurels"

At the meeting, Alexander Lukashenko said that the government, on his behalf, conducted an attestation of rectors of all universities in the country. The results are disappointing. Some rectors rest on their laurels, delegating their managerial functions to deputies, are engaged in journalism, and perform exclusively representative functions. “I cannot allow this in the country. Especially today, when so many opportunities have opened up to popularize domestic education among friendly and interested countries,” the President noted.

According to the head of state, the visit to BSU is only the beginning of his further work in universities. "Autumn will be deep, winter. Not only will I have more time (there will always be work), but I won't have to run around the field (it's about monitoring the progress of the harvesting campaign and other agricultural work. - Approx. BelTA), maybe some other "there will be no more questions. I'm asking the Presidential Administration to plan my work in universities. I will visit higher education institutions more often. I instructed that the rectors be invited today so that they can see in what context their conversation in universities will be in the future. And not only with me. We have many bosses, senior officials, members of the government, governors and others. These are trained, intelligent people. Let's work," he said.

Alexander Lukashenko specifically warned the rectors: “Sergeyenko (Head of the Presidential Administration Igor Sergeenko. - approx. BelTA) is right that some of you have become ossified. Guys, we will move you very hard in the near future. This is unacceptable. Education must be carried out at the right level , and give a normal education. Someone there dropped down and lowered his hands - this will not happen. "

At the same time, the head of state noted that, perhaps, he himself should have worked more often with rectors, vice-rectors, deans, visited universities: “The circumstances were such that, one might say, it was not before. of our country. Here are the future leaders, the elite. I will draw conclusions from this, including my subordinates."

On the need to mobilize to save the country

“The university, whoever works here in the leadership, must be protected from unnecessary external influence. The university must develop as it should develop. Not only according to the laws of Belarus, but also the internal laws of the university. a special privileged position is impossible," the Belarusian leader stressed.

At the same time, he noted that the state line should be carried out in the university. "I want you to hear me. We are at a state university. Therefore, whether you like it or not, the state line must be carried out clearly and definitely. I will not persuade anyone the way it was before. You are smart people. You saw that What happened, what is happening. We need to mobilize in order to go through this period. How long it will last... Maybe two, maybe three years. Nobody knows. Neither you nor I - we don't know. Therefore, we need this unity now, so that we can get through this period. This is how the situation has developed. I don’t know if it’s bad or good. On the one hand, yes, it’s good. On the other, it’s bad," the President said.

“The country must be preserved, and we must mobilize in this regard,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed. “Yes, we are not rich. Yes, we have enough of everything: both negative and positive. But we have the main thing: we live in a quiet country and raise our own children. If we had not survived in 2020, we would have been worse than in Ukraine . Therefore, I always tell foreigners: you should pray for the Belarusians. We saved you from the third world war by standing here. There would be a cruel clash here. One night decided everything. Therefore, I did not go crazy running there with a machine gun: I understood what would happen tomorrow. "

The head of state called on everyone to contribute to the preservation and development of Belarus, because there is no other country like it in the world. "Yes, we are not a huge country, but a very important one. You know where we are. Wherever you look -" Belarus, Belarus, Belarus ". At all crossroads. We have succeeded at the moment ) - let's take care of it. And everyone in this direction should do something that he can. I'm not asking too much. Do everything you can in your place. If everyone does everything that he can, we will be twice as rich ", Alexander Lukashenko is sure.

The President also mentioned the importance of training promising personnel and the gradual change of generations in various fields, including public administration. Sometimes ideological work is not built up enough: “The year 2020 has cut everything off. We live, one might say, in another country. But there must be movement from top to bottom. Here, the Presidential Administration is catastrophically underperforming. - said the head of state. - Therefore, it is possible to make claims. And it is necessary to make claims to him (the rector of the BSU. - Approx. BelTA) to the administration of the university. There are enough problems. But we ourselves must see our shortcomings. Therefore, Igor Petrovich (Head of the Presidential Administration . - Approx. BELTA), get together and think about how we will get out of the current situation."

About different points of view and the inadmissibility of "breaking each other's ribs"

When organizing work in universities, it is important to take into account the specifics of these organizations and the people working in them. After all, these are special, learned people, and there should not be excessive demands, any infringement on them, the President emphasized.

"I'm your colleague - a teacher, a lecturer. And now I look into the audience when people spoke. Someone grimaced, someone shook his head, someone disagrees. I see that even in this audience not everything is clear. Well and don't. There should be no unambiguity about this," Alexander Lukashenko said. "There is no course to crush someone, to infringe on their opinion. I often say that they put a schedule on my desk, and meetings are almost every day. If there are not several points of view, I immediately postpone the document. There is no need to hold a meeting."

"There must be points of view. We must carefully discuss these issues. We must not run into each other, we must not crush each other. These are our people. We must approach carefully. Under no circumstances should we "break each other's ribs" in this situation. Moreover, to his people, not to enemies," the Belarusian leader stressed.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that he orients law enforcement agencies to such an approach, because even opponents should first of all try to turn to themselves. "But you have to see the enemy. This is the time. But be very careful," he remarked.

As for the intelligentsia, the President also considers it unacceptable to "sharpen" them for this or that political figure: "This should not happen in our society. No streets, no monuments, especially during life," the head of state said.

"WAGNER" IS ALIVE. What Lukashenka responded to stuffing and fakes around the death of the PMC leadership

After a lengthy meeting on the future of the country's leading university, the head of state met with journalists and answered the main questions that the tragic accident with the plane of Wagner PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin caused in people.

About the plane crash of Yevgeny Prigozhin

The head of state replied that he could not answer this question: he was not at the scene. But the President cannot refute anything with absolute certainty.

“The only thing I’m starting to think is that a missile shot down, an explosion on board… Do you know what a missile shot down is? Only the Commander-in-Chief can give a command to the military space forces to do something. Then they will give a command to a specific unit. command to a specific calculation. Do you understand how many people are involved? What an idiot would do it. Although I don’t deny it either: the devil knows, maybe some crazy people decided it. But I don’t believe it," Alexander Lukashenko said.

“The fact that the tail came off has already been confirmed for sure. So, most likely there was an explosion on board. I personally don’t know who did it,” the President added.

On whether Putin is behind this

Here the answer from the head of state is unequivocal: the Russian President cannot be behind this. Yes, now they will begin to prove the opposite and try to hang everything on Vladimir Putin. But, according to Alexander Lukashenko, the Russian leader has nothing to do with it.

“I will not become a lawyer even for my older brother. But I know Putin. He is a prudent, very calm and even slow person, making decisions on other, less complex issues. Therefore, I cannot imagine that Putin did this, that Putin is to blame. "Too rough, unprofessional work, for that matter. It doesn't look like Putin," the President stressed. "But whatever happens, no matter what happens, it will still be blamed on Putin. We have a Belarus, in Russia, is like this: some kind of dirty trick happened, who is to blame - Lukashenka is to blame, why look for a long time. Exactly so on him. But I say: this is a rough, vile, abnormal job. And I am far from thinking that Putin did it, he instructed someone, the authorities did it."

Alexander Lukashenko noted that it would be real madness for the head of state to make a decision to destroy the aircraft, but Vladimir Putin is not like that.

Therefore, I do not understand and do not accept. This is unacceptable," the Belarusian leader stressed.

On security guarantees and promises to Prigozhin

“To answer this question directly: I don’t have to ensure Prigozhin’s safety. This is, firstly. Secondly, the conversation has never been in this vein,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

The President noted that during the talks with Yevgeny Prigozhin, two issues were discussed: the termination of criminal cases against the Wagnerites and their withdrawal to Belarus. “I suggested this. I say: “If you are afraid of something, I will talk with President Putin, we will take you to Belarus. We guarantee you complete security in Belarus. "And I must pay tribute, Zhenya Prigozhin never asked me to pay special attention to security issues," the head of state stressed.

"I'll just give you one more example. The last time we flew to the Emirates, I received very serious information from sources, which cannot be deeper, about the attempt on the life of Yevgeny Prigozhin. Within two hours (I instructed) they found the Russian ambassador in Emirates, they called him to me. I gave him a cipher message to the Kremlin to Putin and Bortnikov about the impending assassination attempt on Prigozhin," the Belarusian leader shared his insides.

After some time, Alexander Lukashenko asked Yevgeny Prigozhin whether this information had reached him. The founder of PMC "Wagner" confirmed that the President of Russia warned him about the impending assassination attempt.

Alexander Lukashenko reacts calmly to the stuffing that the President of Belarus allegedly did not provide the security guarantees promised to Yevgeny Prigozhin. “You have to write something. To prick me somewhere and so on. No more than that. This is stupid. Yesterday they said that half of those who read it immediately laughed. And the remaining half thought a day later: “What does Lukashenka have to do with it? How could he in Africa (and Prigozhin flew from Africa) ensure his safety? And then he landed in Moscow and flew to St. Petersburg. How could I provide him with this security? Therefore, these questions are not for me. Moreover, there has never been such a conversation - to ensure security on foreign territory," the head of state said.

On its territory, the Belarusian side fulfilled everything promised to the participants of the PMC "Wagner" and even more than that, the President drew attention. "They have no claims," Alexander Lukashenko added. "Yesterday, the KGB chairman contacted them on my instructions, and they received only one message from me: we will fulfill everything that Prigozhin and I agreed on."

About the future of Wagner in Belarus

"Wagner" lived, "Wagner" is alive and "Wagner" will live in Belarus, no matter how much someone would like it. Prigogine and I have already built a system of how the Wagner will be located in our country. And these pictures from space, that we are dismantling something ... Why are we removing extra tents - so much is not needed. Here remains the core, someone went on vacation, someone generally decided to live on the sidelines, but phones, addresses, passwords, appearances in this core are known. Within a few days everyone will be here, up to 10 thousand people. Now there is no need to keep them here. They will come here in certain batches for training. If Russia wants to take people from here to rotate to Africa, please, we do not mind, let those people be here. We help and support them, so they do not run anywhere. As long as we need this unit, they will live and work with us. We will fulfill our promise, they know the conditions," the head of state stressed.

Alexander Lukashenko also debunked the myth about the arrival of a Russian military transport aircraft in Belarus after the incident with the plane of Yevgeny Prigozhin. Such a request, the President said, really was, but so far no one has flown to Belarus. “The Wagnerites (what was agreed with Russia, for sure) asked us to fly to our airfields in order to take fighters for rotation, I think, to Africa, and some uniforms, equipment, and so on. Please sit down, take it. "I promised, guaranteed. This is the first. Second, there were no planes. Therefore, it's a lie. But there was such a request. It came to us on the 21st," the President noted.

According to him, the Belarusian servicemen are also happy to learn from the experience of the Wagnerites, especially the internal troops and special units. “There is no rejection, that’s what surprised me. Our military didn’t roll their lips. Anything can happen, that’s why they absorb everything,” the Belarusian leader said. "Listen, they'll take grandma across the road, they don't take change in the store. Amazing people. Iron discipline. If you're afraid of wolves, don't go into the woods. We don't keep them here for pleasure, but for the sake of good. And the system was built in such a way that everything was under control."

BALTIC MASOCHISM. Who will be hit harder by the possible closure of borders with Belarus

In Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, the issue of the possibility of a complete closure of borders has been actively discussed recently. Some steps in this direction have already been made, and on August 28 the issue will be discussed in Warsaw by the Interior Ministers of the three countries.

Responding to a request from journalists to comment on this topic, Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that by closing the borders with Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland would only make things worse for themselves and their citizens.

“I don’t quite understand Lithuania, Latvia. Most likely, they are running ahead of the locomotive in this trend (so as not to fall under it), they want to show off. But it will come out sideways. They want to close, let them close. "We don't travel and don't work through them either. Whom will they hurt? They'll hurt only themselves and their people," Alexander Lukashenko noted. how we live."

The President stressed that Belarus is a peaceful country and has no claims to its western neighbors. “We want to live on our land. We don’t need Polish, Lithuanian or Latvian lands. But today they have a political psychosis on the eve of the elections, especially in Poland, so they will escalate this situation. for themselves. And so the people were already impoverished: in winter they took away firewood from us, because there was nothing to heat with. And for God's sake. We will help them, it will be necessary - we will help for free so that people can endure this," the head of state said.

“There are no fools there, there are strong, seasoned people. Like us. They will soon demolish these leaders,” the Belarusian leader is convinced.

ON THE BELARUSIAN HORSE. Why are Polish politicians actively looking for an external enemy?

Alexander Lukashenko explains the excitement and demand in Poland for various statements and publications on Belarusian topics by the desire of local politicians to form the image of an external enemy and thereby gain an advantage in the elections. “As for the Belarusian issue in Poland, the Poles must understand that there is only one reason: they need some kind of external enemy - Belarus, Russia. This is the enemy,” the head of state said.

Alexander Lukashenko

He noted that the Belarusian theme is in demand in Poland, and the inhabitants of this country ask a number of questions, addressing them to their politicians: "On the lips of the Poles -" Belarus, Belarus, Belarus ":" Why did we (Poles) get into this, why this, that No? And fuel is expensive, and this is… But the Belarusians don’t have such problems.”

“They are comparing. Therefore, we should be let down. They want to jump into the parliament on this Belarusian horse and win. It won’t work. We explain everything to the Poles and explain. Poles see for themselves," Alexander Lukashenko said.

In communication with journalists, he also spoke on the migration issue, which does not lose its relevance on the borders with the European Union. "It was not us who created this wave. They (the European Union - approx. BelTA) refused to cooperate with us - to build these centers, finance and so on. And sanctions were imposed against us," the head of state recalled.

When there was no war in Ukraine, the flow of migrants to the EU also went through this country. Now there is only one window left - through Belarus. “But we will not fight for Europe and will not tear our clothes. In connection with the policy they are pursuing,” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.

DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY. Why Lukashenka advised the West not to strain

From September 1 to 6, Belarus will host a joint operational-strategic exercise of the CSTO "Combat Brotherhood - 2023". The exercises will be held at training grounds and areas of the Brest, Grodno and Minsk regions. The military contingents that will take part in the exercise have already begun to relocate to Belarus.

Alexander Lukashenko was asked whether the West should consider these exercises as some kind of special signal. The President's response, in order to be perfectly clear to Western counterparts, fits perfectly into the title of the famous American hit Don't Worry, Be Happy, which means "Don't Worry, Be Happy." We advise you to listen. Indeed, it is soothing.

“To be honest, I didn’t even go into the details of these exercises. But in the current situation, in order not to escalate the situation and the situation, there is no such combat component. There will be small units of some CSTO countries that will work out mainly staff issues, tactics and a strategy for the future. Therefore, they all know, we warned them in advance," the President said.

At the same time, the head of state is confident that the West will use the relevant topics. “Here, Putin and Lukashenka have planned something again in Belarus and are almost preparing an offensive against the same unfortunate Poland ... Nothing like that. No offensive. We are working out those that were planned long ago. necessary," the Belarusian leader assured.

FIRST STEP. How the BRICS summit brought the Americans' nightmare closer

But what the West, on the contrary, should think hard about is its future role in the global balance of power. Journalists asked if the hegemony of the West has ended due to the increase in the number of BRICS members and plans to further strengthen this structure. “I think that Western hegemony is not ending yet. But this is a strong step in this direction. And not only the media, high-level politicians are tense there,” Alexander Lukashenko said. “There is something to think about and think about. This is a very strong step towards a multipolar world.

“BRICS has taken this step. Great. This is the first step,” the President continued. “And then, you see, some units of account, the currency will appear. They are the most afraid of this, especially the Americans who are in charge. They understand that tomorrow the DOLLAR will be taken away from them, a new currency will appear, and hegemony will end. the whole world".
