In Khakassia, they burn meat products infected with African swine fever

An analysis of data from the information system of the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR FSIS "Mercury" showed that Khakassia received pig products from the Karatuzsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, where, in turn, MEAT was previously sent from an unfavorable point for African swine fever (hereinafter referred to as ASF) (the territory of the village of Malaya Minusa, Minusinsk region ).

Employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor, together with the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Ministry of Agriculture of Khakassia and specialists of the State Institution of Agriculture of the Republic of Khakassia "Khakass Veterinary Laboratory", took 40 samples of animal products for ASF testing at five points of the republic's retail network. As a result, four positive samples were identified.

All hazardous products were  withdrawn from sale and voluntarily destroyed  by the owner by incineration. Places where hazardous products were located have been disinfected.

Also, on the territory of the former 9th mine (sh. Yeniseiskaya) in Chernogorsk, the remains of corpses of pigs in the amount of 17 heads were found. After taking and examining the samples, the diagnosis of ASF was established. The remains of the corpses  were destroyed by burning , the location of the remains was disinfected.

Currently, no other foci of ASF disease have been found in the territory of Khakassia.

In view of the fact that the Minusinsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, bordering Khakassia, is an unfavorable zone for ASF, the Rosselkhoznadzor imposed a ban on the import of pig products and feed into Khakassia in order to prevent the introduction and spread of the ASF virus in our region.

Citizens are also reminded that ASF only affects wild, domestic and ornamental pigs of all breeds and ages. The disease is classified as a particularly dangerous animal disease, has a very rapid spread and leads to a 100% death of pigs. In this case, the virus does not pose a danger to humans .
