The list of unscrupulous companies included Velikoluksky meat-packing plant, Cherkizovo, Velkom, Rublevsky, Atyashevo, MDB, and also Velikonovsky MEAT Yard.
The last check of the "Public Control" before the New Year holidays showed that 70% of the tested samples of sausages in grocery stores in St. Petersburg do not meet the requirements of the Interstate Standard (GOST), and every second sample of fish fillet does not meet microbiological safety standards. Vsevolod Vishnevetsky, chairman of the St. Petersburg public consumer organization "Public Control", told reporters about this at a press conference on Tuesday.
"70% of sausages that are made according to the same GOST together with boiled sausage do not meet the requirements of GOST, this is seven out of 10 tested samples, which is 60% more than last year," he said.
Vishnevetsky added that among the unscrupulous companies were: Velikoluksky meat-packing plant, Cherkizovo, Velkom, Rublevsky, Atyashevo, MDB, Veliky Novgorod meat yard. Poultry meat instead of beef and pork was found in six sausage samples from these manufacturers out of 10 tested. In addition, collagen animal protein, fiber and starch were found. According to Vishnevetsky, manufacturers mislead consumers by indicating the GOST marking on the packaging, while only some components of the product are manufactured according to the standard, but not the product itself.
The problem lies in the pandemic
According to the expert, the pandemic has largely provoked a significant increase in the number of low-quality and counterfeit food products in retail chains. Beef and pork became more expensive, as a result of which the manufacturer began to save on raw materials. Now every second product on the store shelf with the GOST marking does not meet the requirements of the state standard.
Checking canned meat showed that all 10 samples participating in the study, in the price category up to 600 rubles, do not meet the requirements of the standard, many of them turned out to be falsified. In 2021, experts did not find a single package of dumplings in St. Petersburg according to GOST. Even those that were produced in 2020 in accordance with GOST, in 2021 turned out to be produced according to TU, vegetable fibers and carrageenan were found in them. We also checked preserves from fish - the main ingredient for cooking the popular dish "Herring under a fur coat." "This is a herring fillet cut into pieces in plastic packaging. The test showed that every second sample (50%) did not meet microbiological requirements. Moreover, individual samples purchased from the supermarket contained 500 times more mold than the norm allows,
"Public control" also checked the finished culinary products in stores in St. Petersburg. According to the results of the 2020 examination, 90% of the samples of the Herring under a Fur Coat salad did not meet the requirements for the microbiological safety of the product. In 2021, public figures checked the Olivier salad, the results of the analysis showed that 80% of the samples also did not meet the norm - bacteria of the E. coli group were found in six out of 10. Vishnevetsky recommended that customers not risk their HEALTH and prepare New Year's salads at home.
