MINSK . Belarus produces 913 kg of grain, 958 kg of
MILK, 341 kg of potatoes, and 304 kg of vegetables per capita, according to a review by the National Statistical Committee for the Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers, BELTA reports. The
country also produces 78 kg of fruits and berries, 147 kg of livestock and poultry (slaughter weight), and 407 eggs per capita. Overall, the contribution of agricultural production to Belarus's GDP in
2024 exceeded 6%. Livestock production accounts for 53.2% of the total output, while crop production accounts for 46.8%. Agricultural organizations account for the largest share (78.9%) among farm categories. Household plots account for 18.2%, while peasant farms account for 2.9%.
The nominal accrued average monthly salary of agricultural workers for January-September 2025 amounted to Br2,165.7, which is 22% higher than for the same period in 2024.
In 2024, 6.7% of all those employed in the country's economy, or 236,700 people, were employed in agriculture in Belarus. The average age of an employee is 44.4 years. About 63.8% of employees are
men , 36.2% are women.
The food industry occupies the main share in the processing industry. In 2024, 159 thousand people were employed in this sector, or 3.8% of all those employed in the Belarusian economy. Of these, 81.4% of workers worked in cities and urban-type settlements, and 18.6% in rural settlements. The nominal accrued average monthly wage of food industry workers for January-September 2025 amounted to Br2722, an increase of 19.1% compared to the same period last year.
The share of the food industry in the total industrial production for January-September 2025 amounted to 28.3%. The share of regions in the production of food, beverages and tobacco products was distributed as follows: Brest region - 26.8%, Minsk - 24.2%, Grodno - 17.9%, Gomel - 9.6%, Vitebsk - 8.3%, Mogilev - 8%, Minsk - 5.2%.
