Located in the heart of the Stolbtsy District is Velikiy Dvor, a company rightfully considered the flagship of the agricultural sector. It employs a team of experienced professionals and a stable system that allows for the efficient use of every hectare of land. Our correspondent learned about the records the enterprise has achieved this season. Groundwork for the Future Harvest: On its 3,065 hectares of farmland, 2,555 hectares of which are arable, Velikiy Dvor grows grain and legume crops,
sugar beets, corn, and rapeseed. They meticulously monitor the soil and use advanced technologies to improve fertility. And all this is reflected in high yields.
"We are pleased with the harvest." Our company ranked first in the district and second in the
Minsk Region in terms of yield. From a total arable land of 1,000 hectares, the grain and legume yield was 86.8 centners per hectare. Such results have not been achieved in any previous year. "The adherence to technology, as well as the wet and prolonged
spring , were a significant plus —this is what winter crops need," notes Alexander Dudarevich,
Director of Velikiy Dvor, explaining that the company supplies some of the grain for state procurement, while the rest is used to make animal feed and sell it.
The farm's main commercial crops—rapeseed, barley, triticale, and wheat—are sold to Belsolod, BNBC, and Oblrapsagroservis. Chief agronomist Gennady Bezushko is also pleased with the harvest results, but he was especially pleased with the barley harvest.
"I've been working here for over 40 years, and for as long as I can remember, the farm has never threshed 94 centners per hectare of Belarusian-bred spring barley. The grain's moisture content was low, so we dried it. We sold 700 tons to a brewery and made a good profit." "It's a shame we only sowed 100 hectares; we should have planted more," Gennady Gennadyevich shares.
According to the specialist, spring frosts during the rapeseed flowering period somewhat affected the yield. Nevertheless, they still managed to harvest 40.9 centners per hectare of oilseeds from an area of 250 hectares.
Sugar beets were also harvested on time. Experienced machine operator Finat Saitgareev was also responsible for this area of work. He has maintained a high standard for 12 seasons now and makes a significant contribution to the company's success. The root crop is scheduled to be delivered to Gorodeya Sugar Refinery OJSC soon. This year's yield was 640 centners per hectare.
Work in the fields continues unabated: 300 hectares of arable land are being prepared for next year's sugar beet crops. Organic matter has already been removed, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are being applied, and then plowing will begin.
"Autumn allows, and we must take advantage of the comfortable weather for such work. We are also finishing chemical weeding on 930 hectares of winter crops, which is essential at this time of year. Of course, there are plenty of other concerns, but we need to think about the future harvest today," asserts the chief agronomist.
Raising the bar for the new year: The main commercial products of Velikiy Dvor OJSC are
meat and
milk . The farm has one of the highest livestock densities in the region – 210
head per 100 hectares of arable land. The enterprise includes two dairy farms, as well as a
cattle fattening and breeding complex . The large herd numbers 5,372 head, of which 844 are dairy.
"The goal of crop production is to provide the animals with balanced, high-quality feed." "We have harvested 22,000 tons of silage and the same amount of haylage from pure alfalfa, which is a source of nutrients, rich in vitamins and minerals, and also contains protein," explains Gennady Bezushko.
This approach to preparing the
cattle feed base is reflected in the
milk yield and growth rates of young animals. Based on the results of
2024, Velikiy Dvor JSC ranked second in the region for milk production. In the first nine months of
2025, one
cow at the enterprise produced 8,401 kg of milk. They produce 21,500 tons of extra-grade milk daily and sell it to the Molochny Gostinets public enterprise and the Slutsk
Cheese Factory JSC. The farm intends to exceed the 10,100 kg mark and set a new record by the end of the year.
Average daily weight gain is also at a good level – 740 grams. Each month, the farm supplies over 250 young bulls to the Stolbtsy Meat-Canning Plant.
A Strong Team The efficient operation of Velikiy Dvor OJSC is ensured by a staff of 143, including experienced workers and young professionals. Retaining young people is an important issue for the company. For example, Maxim Stulba was transferred here voluntarily over eight years ago.
"I started out as a machine and tractor fleet engineer, and six months later, I became acting chief engineer. That's how I stayed after completing my training. The salary is good—almost three thousand rubles—the team is well-coordinated and knows how to work as a team. Furthermore, we upgrade our equipment every year, and working with new equipment is doubly enjoyable," says Maxim Alexandrovich.
The auto repair shops here are among the best in the country. For example, Velikiy Dvor's machine shop took third place in the republican competition and second place in the regional competition. The renovations were completed in 2023, but the grounds remain immaculately maintained to this day. The premises boast high-quality amenities, including electric heating, showers, a bathroom, and a lounge with appliances.
The company actively develops the infrastructure of the Stolbtsy District's populated areas. It supports cultural institutions, sponsors a local school and kindergarten, and helps with the upgrading of their facilities.
The management and trade union of Velikiy Dvor OJSC care for their employees. They are provided with housing with an option to purchase their apartments and organized excursions around the country. In addition to the annual 13th salary, bonuses and food packages are paid on public holidays. Transportation to the workplace is provided.
"Our technical level allows us to efficiently and timely complete the entire range of work, both in the field and at the complexes. Excellent working and living conditions have been created on-site, as well as comprehensive social protection for the company's employees. Nevertheless, additional labor would be a welcome addition. Therefore, we are looking for young specialists to join our team: veterinarians, livestock specialists, and tractor drivers, who, like our experienced farmers, will perform their assigned tasks efficiently and be generously compensated for their efforts," concludes Alexander Dudarevich,
Director of Velikiy Dvor OJSC.
