Spain lifts restrictions on the spread of bird flu

The regime regulating the activities of farms and poultry farms in conditions of increased risk has been in force since December 20, 2022. Since February of this year, not a single outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza has been registered in Spain. The statistics for the last three weeks confirms the stable epizootic situation in the wild fauna.

With the end of the spring migration period for bird flocks, MAPA experts conducted an additional assessment of the spread of the highly pathogenic influenza virus, both in Spain and in other European countries. Based on the data received, a decision was made to lift the bans on keeping poultry for walking and water intake for farms from open sources.
