Europe investigates cases of cattle deaths after vaccination

This includes severe anaphylactic reactions, often fatal, recorded in cattle in Belgium, Italy, France and Spain following the use of vaccines and a number of other veterinary drugs administered parenterally. In France, since 2021, there has been an increase in cases of hypersensitivity and anaphylactic reactions in cattle following the parenteral administration of antimicrobials.

According to the publication, the observed adverse events may be related to the fact that the animals were weakened after vaccination against bluetongue. However, this connection has not yet been confirmed. it is reported that the competent authorities of the European Union are currently conducting special monitoring of these cases in order to identify the causes of what is happening and take appropriate measures.
