
Since the beginning of the year, 24 thousand lambs have already been born in agricultural enterprises and peasant farms of the Stavropol Territory. Neftekumsky and Ipatovsky districts became the leaders in the number of young animals.
By March 11, 10 thousand lambs were born in the peasant farms of Neftekumye. As for agricultural enterprises, the Ipatovsky district gave the largest offspring. However, local sheep breeders intend to increase their livestock and get 9.3 thousand animals. In total, the region's agricultural enterprises plan to receive 105 thousand heads, and K (F) Kh - 432 thousand lambs in 2021.
Now the number of breeding stock of sheep in the Stavropol Territory is 116.3 thousand sheep in agricultural enterprises and 507.5 thousand - in farms.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the region, sheep of five fine-fleeced breeds and two semi-fine-fleeced sheep are bred in the breeding organizations of the region. Earlier, Governor Vladimir Vladimirov set the task of developing MEAT production in the Stavropol Territory. So, over the past ten years, three breeds have been bred that are distinguished by a high yield of meat and wool - the Tashlin, Dzhalginsky merino and Russian meat merino.
