State of the pork market in Russia: June-July 2024

Pork Price Trends

Analyzing price dynamics, it can be noted that at the beginning of summer there was a slight decrease of 0.4%. However, in June and July, prices remained stable at the same level, which may indicate a balance between supply and demand in the market. In the first seven months of 2023, pork (excluding boneless MEAT ) increased in price by 1%, and in annual terms this figure is 10%. This increase in price can be due to several factors, including increased production and logistics costs, as well as changes in consumer preferences.

Geographical differences in prices

It is interesting to note that pork prices vary depending on the region. In July 2024 , the most expensive pork (excluding boneless meat) could be bought in the Far Eastern Federal District, where the average price was 431.26 rubles per kilogram. At the same time, the Volga Federal District offered the lowest prices - 306.02 rubles per kilogram. These differences can be explained by both transportation costs and local production conditions.

Historical data

Since the beginning of 2022, the maximum consumer price for pork on the bone was recorded in May 2023 and amounted to 347.32 rubles per kilogram. The minimum figure was recorded in March 2023 - 302.96 rubles per kilogram. These data highlight the price fluctuations typical of the agricultural market, which depends on many factors, including climatic conditions, changes in legislation and the external economic situation.

Market prospects

Given the current trends, it can be assumed that pork prices may remain stable in the coming months. However, given possible fluctuations in supply and demand, as well as the influence of external factors, such as changes in the global economy and trade relations, it is difficult to predict further price dynamics.
