Growth of egg production on the Don: new achievements and prospects

Egg production continues to grow in the Rostov region, and this pleases both agricultural organizations and consumers. According to Rostovstat, in January-March 2024 , 425.3 million eggs were produced, which is 8.3% more than in the same period last year. This growth indicates the stable development of poultry farming in the region.

One of the key success factors is the increase in the number of poultry in medium and small agricultural organizations. Over the year, the number of poultry increased by more than a quarter, reaching 11.6 million birds at the beginning of March 2024. This significant increase indicates a growing interest in poultry farming among farmers and entrepreneurs in the region.

It is important to note that the Rostov region ranks 6th in the Russian Federation in terms of egg production. In 2023, an impressive 1.6 billion eggs were produced. This achievement could not have been possible without the active participation of leading egg producers in the region, such as Taganrogskaya Poultry Farm OJSC in the Neklinovsky district, Alena LLC in the Tsimlyansky district, Orekhovskaya Poultry Farm OJSC in the Millerovsky district, Aksai Poultry Farm LLC in Aksaisky district and Markinskaya Poultry Farm LLC in the Oktyabrsky district.

However, the growth of egg production on the Don does not stop there. According to the publication Delovaya Gazeta. Yug, in 2024 it is planned to increase the production of chicken eggs by modernizing several enterprises. This will not only satisfy the growing demand for eggs , but also create new jobs and contribute to the development of the region's economy.

The Rostov region continues to demonstrate its leading role in poultry farming and egg production. Increased poultry production and numbers, as well as plans to modernize enterprises, indicate that this agricultural sector will continue to develop and benefit the region.
