Rosselkhoznadzor found E. coli in semi-finished poultry products in Khabarovsk

Both frozen and fresh MEAT were infected.

Specialists of the regional ROSSELKHOZNADZOR have taken 1,655 samples to detect E. coli since the beginning of 2022. The bacterium was found in 21 of them.

- Most of the contaminated products are poultry. Microorganisms were found in both fresh and frozen meat, said the department of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Khabarovsk Territory and the Jewish Autonomous Region.

E. coli is a group of bacteria that includes more than 100 types of microorganisms. An infected person develops symptoms of poisoning: fatigue and weakness, drowsiness, lack of appetite. To avoid catching E. coli, you need to process meat at high temperatures, rinse vegetables and fruits well, wash your hands and follow basic hygiene rules.
