Ajata explained that the negotiations with Egypt also include the supply of beef offal and MEAT to CHINA , while with Chile the priority is dairy products, eggs , honey and other products.

"Next week we will receive a delegation from the Chilean Agricultural and Livestock Service to inspect liquid MILK EXPORT facilities," he announced.

EXPORT

These efforts are part of the work of the AC22 Administrative Commission, which aims to speed up access of Bolivian products to the Chilean market.

The rapprochement with Egypt was cemented after the fourth meeting of the Political Consultative Mechanism in Cairo, held in November 2024, at which Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa presented Bolivia's export proposal.

"We will soon welcome Egyptian businessmen interested in meat and grain products," Sosa said during the meeting.

Chile, for its part, has recognized the Altiplano macroregion (La Paz, Oruro, Potosi, Pando and Beni) as a “foot-and-mouth disease-free zone without vaccination” through Tax Exemption Resolution 2965, a key requirement for the export of meat and dairy products.

In the medium term, plans are to export avocados, llama by-products, Amazonian fruits and peanuts, which will bring foreign exchange to the country.

These efforts are part of Bolivia's strategy to diversify international agricultural markets, reduce reliance on traditional markets and use bilateral agreements.

The opening of Egypt and Chile could boost key sectors such as livestock and dairy; although the veto on beef exports remains in place, the Luis Arce administration hopes to lower the domestic price of the product to restart overseas sales.
