Three hooligans from the Brest region were given from 1 to 3 years in prison for damaging a police car

January 19, Brest. The prosecutor's office of the Brest region supported in COURT the state prosecution in a criminal case against three local residents who were charged with malicious hooliganism and complicity in committing it, BelTA learned from the information service of the regional prosecutor's office.

The incident took place on the evening of October 10 last year in the agricultural town of Tomashovka. Three friends were drinking in a parking lot near the village council. One of them, a 31-year-old man with a previous conviction, climbed onto the hood of an official car of the Brest District Department of Internal Affairs and pissed on the windshield. After that, he offered to damage the wheels of the car, which he did with a knife. In this he was helped by friends aged 24 and 33.

In the course of the operational-search work, the identity of the hooligans was established. The video taken by one of them on a mobile phone was also evidence. As it turned out, the reason for the inadequate actions of their initiator was the desire to take revenge on the district police officer for arresting while driving while intoxicated .

Taking into account the evidence presented by the public prosecutor, the Brest District Court found two defendants guilty under Part 2 of Article 339 (malicious hooliganism) of the Criminal Code and sentenced them to imprisonment for a term of 3 and 2 years, respectively. Their accomplice was convicted under part 6 of article 16 and part 2 of article 339 of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 1 year in prison.

The verdict has not entered into force and can be appealed and protested on appeal.
