Illegal moonshine distillery liquidated in Molodechno district

The officers of the Minsk Region Economic Crime Control Department, with the forceful support of OMON fighters, discovered an illegal factory producing moonshine on an industrial scale in the Molodechno District, the Ministry of Internal Affairs told BELTA. 

As it turned out, the illegal business was organized by a 61-year-old local resident. His partners were three sons and two acquaintances. 

In the outbuildingsLaw enforcement officers found a moonshine still, containers with mash - over 25 thousand liters, 12.5 tons of FLOUR, 400 liters of finished products. "The defendants were caught red-handed while manufacturing another batch of goods," the Ministry of Internal Affairs specified.

The amount of illegal income from the sale of products, as well as the distribution network, is being established. The damage caused to the environment due to the disposal of production waste is being calculated.  

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded: for the production of strong alcoholic beverages by individuals, liability is provided - a warning or a fine of up to five basic units with confiscation of the product, semi-finished product and apparatus. In case of a repeated violation, the fine increases to 30 basic units.
