A drunken lawless man hit a horse-drawn cart in the Stolin district: two people were injured

June 19, Brest. In the Stolin region, two people were injured in an accident with a horse-drawn cart, the traffic police department of the Brest Regional Executive Committee told BELTA.

The incident occurred late in the evening of June 18 on the P6 Ivatsevichi - Pinsk - Stolin road. At about 22.20, at 143 km of the road, a Mitsubishi car driven by a 47-year-old resident of Stolin ran into a horse-drawn cart. According to preliminary information, the cart was moving along the edge of the roadway in the same direction and was marked with reflective tape.

As a result of the collision, a 42-year-old driver and his 44-year-old passenger were hospitalized with injuries. A medical examination revealed 1.99 ppm of ALCOHOL in the blood of the driver of the car. In addition, he did not have a driver's license. An inspection is underway.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded: in the presence of absolute ethyl alcohol in the blood or exhaled air in a concentration of up to 0.8 ppm inclusive, a fine of 100 basic units is imposed with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of three years. Over 0.8 ppm - a fine of 200 basic units with imprisonment for five years.

Law enforcement officers draw the attention of citizens to the importance and necessity of reporting by phone 102 about cases of drunk drivers driving vehicles, drunk pedestrians and cyclists on or near the roadway, who by their actions create a threat to road safety.
