In Kabardino-Balkaria, at the end of 2021, the capacity of fruit storage facilities amounted to 182.2 thousand tons of one-time storage of products, which is 31.8 thousand tons or 20% more than a year earlier.

The annual increase in areas under perennial fruit and berry plantations, the growth in the production of fruits and berries require the introduction of new storage capacities.

“Without modern fruit storage facilities, it is impossible to solve issues of year-round storage of fruit and berry products and supply the population with fresh fruit. The plans are to increase storage capacities. State support also contributes to this. So, in 2021, 113.2 million rubles were allocated to reimburse part of the direct costs incurred for the creation and modernization of agricultural facilities, which included projects for the construction of fruit storage facilities, including 112.6 million rubles from the federal budget, from the budget of the republic – 0.6 million rubles,” explained the Minister of Agriculture of Kabardino-Balkaria Khasan Sizhazhev.
