October 28,
MINSK . Sales of gelatin for the pharmaceutical industry began at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, the BUCE press service told BELTA.
BUCE held its first exchange auction of specialized gelatin for pharmaceutical companies in the Republic of
Belarus . Following the trading session, a deal was concluded for the purchase of 40 tons of beef gelatin worth Br980,000. Four suppliers participated in the auction, which allowed for a 3% reduction in the procurement cost due to competitive bidding.
"The exchange trading of gelatin is part of a series of measures to simplify access to raw materials for Belarusian producers and reduce the time and cost of purchasing them. In this case, the buyer had specific
requirements for the product itself and the terms of payment and delivery, which imposed certain restrictions on potential sellers. Despite this, the use of the exchange mechanism not only allowed us to form a pool of suppliers of the desired product but also ensured a sufficient level of competition to reduce the price," the BUCE press service reported.
The sale of beef gelatin at exchange trading for the domestic market is organized under the "Food Raw Materials, Grocery Products, Fruit and Vegetable Products" category. According to BUCE, the value of transactions involving goods in this category for the first nine months of 2025 amounted to Br77.5 million, which is 2.2 times more than for the same period in
2024 . The largest share in the structure of exchange sales was accounted for by complex food additives, refined deodorized sunflower
oil , starter culture for the production of
MILK processing products and cocoa powder.
