Federal State Budgetary Institution "VGNKI" received the status of an FAO reference center for quality control of veterinary drugs.

This decision is based on a thorough assessment of the institution's scientific potential and competencies, highlighting its alignment with FAO's strategic objectives related to food security and animal health. Reference centers play a key role in standardizing diagnostic methods, providing reference materials, and conducting training programs for FAO member countries. Currently, there are 76 such centers covering 28 disciplines, including foot-and-mouth disease, antibiotic resistance monitoring, and vaccine quality.
