Lukashenko ordered the development of nature reserves and inspected the "village of the future."

October 31, MINSK . Belarusian President ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO ordered the proper development of nature reserves and inspected the improvements to the central estate of the Berezina Biosphere Reserve, the village of Domzheritsy, which is being developed under the "village of the future" concept, BelTA reports."People should live in the reserve, in these little islands. The idea is to create these islands where people live, like in Domzherits," the HEAD of state said.
Alexander Lukashenko instructed that, in addition to conservation measures, forestry and agriculture should be practiced in such areas. This is to maintain the territory in good order.

"To live on the land, you need to farm. There must be a garden plot," the head of state noted. The same applies to individual plots where economic activity can be developed. "These patches of land cannot be given over to nature if they are cleared of forest and shrubs. They must produce results. A wood processing plant or agriculture

could be found somewhere . I am ready to contribute a small amount of money to develop this," the head of state said. "I'm not saying what you will use the land for. We have enough MILK and MEAT. If it is used for hunting or fishing—goodness gracious, that's your business," the President added. Regarding the development and improvement of Domzheritsy, the head of state gave a positive assessment of what he had seen: "The village is beautiful. God willing, we could have such agrotowns. Well done for creating such a village. Besides hauling reinforced concrete and bricks here, everything should be made of wood," the President praised the improvements. As reported to the head of state, 372 people currently live in Domzheritsy. There are no employment issues, and all necessary social infrastructure, including a kindergarten and a school, has been preserved and modernized. The local boiler house runs entirely on local fuels. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the reserve's founding. To mark this anniversary, a large-scale reconstruction and modernization of the central estate in the village of Domzheritsy was completed. Housing construction is underway, and the production facilities have been updated, including the creation of a wood processing plant.

"This is right, this is the future. I will encourage people to come here and learn how to develop agro-towns," emphasized Alexander Lukashenko.

The President noted that all of this falls within the framework of the overall important task of preserving and developing the countryside in the country: "This is a model of what a village should be, which we want to preserve."

"Closer to nature! And we must use protected areas for this purpose. We want our people to benefit from this," the head of state said.

He emphasized that he is not calling for "polluting Belarus." On the contrary, he is talking about a reasonable approach to environmental management. For example, large volumes of valuable raw materials should not be allowed to simply rot in the forest.

"Of course, there must be order. We cannot ruin these sacred places," the Belarusian leader said.
Alexander Lukashenko was told that the air in the Berezina Biosphere Reserve is 300 times cleaner than in Minsk.

"Our people haven't yet appreciated or understood where they live. It's a sacred place," the head of state emphasized.
