In 2023, agrarians of the Krasnoyarsk Territory will increase the sown area

Traditional zonal meetings are held in the region in preparation for the sowing campaign. The agrarians of the western and southern territories of the region were the first to “synchronize their watches”. At meetings in Sharypovsky and Shushensky districts, farmers, heads of municipalities, specialists from agricultural departments and departments, Rosselkhoztsentr, ROSSELKHOZNADZOR , the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region, the regional Ministry of Agriculture also discussed fire safety during field work, seed quality and others. The final meeting will take place on March 15 in the east of the region.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Trade of the Territory Ilya Vasiliev said that this year the sown area of agricultural crops in the Territory will increase by 12 thousand hectares and will amount to 1 million 539 thousand hectares. About 964 thousand hectares are allocated for grain and leguminous crops - plus 8.7 thousand hectares to the level of last year. Sowing of oilseeds will amount to 263.6 thousand hectares. In particular, rapeseed will occupy 252 thousand hectares - an 8.8% increase by 2022. Potatoes will be planted on 31 thousand hectares, vegetables - on 5.3 thousand hectares, which is slightly higher than last year. Forage crops will occupy 275 thousand hectares.
Agrarians of the region are provided with seeds of grain and leguminous crops by 94%. The remaining volume will be purchased from the seed farms of the region and neighboring regions for variety renewal and variety change. 81% of seeds of cereals and legumes meet the requirements of GOST, this figure is 3% higher than last year. Deliveries of seeds of potatoes, vegetables, rapeseed, corn under the concluded contracts continue, by the beginning of the sowing season, farmers will be fully provided with seeds of these crops.
On average, agricultural machines are ready for field work by 87%. With the onset of warm weather, preparations will go at a faster pace. For the last three years, the region has maintained a positive trend in the acquisition of equipment. Last year alone, farmers bought 2.2 thousand different machines and equipment for 10.3 billion rubles.
Farmers intend to purchase 79,000 tons of the active ingredient of mineral fertilizers, which is in line with last year's plan. Almost 65% of the needs of the farmers have already been delivered. Last season, the Krasnoyarsk Territory increased the amount of mineral fertilizers applied by 20% (up to 55 kg. a.i. per hectare of sown area) compared to 2021.
“On special control in the region is the preservation of the planned structure of sown areas, as well as the timely purchase of seeds (primarily domestic selection), fertilizers, plant protection products and equipment,” said Ilya Vasiliev.
Together with local governments, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Territory developed a plan for plowing fields. This season, the length of fire-fighting plowing will be more than 41,000 km. Over the past few years, the department has been actively cooperating with the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of RUSSIA in the Krasnoyarsk Territory to create voluntary fire brigades in municipalities and agricultural organizations of the region, train employees of agribusiness enterprises at the training center of the Federal Fire Service, and other issues.
Since last year, one of the conditions for providing state support to farmers from the federal and regional budgets is the absence of cases of prosecution for non-compliance with the ban on burning dry grassy vegetation, stubble and crop residues on agricultural land.
The results of the meeting were summed up by the Deputy Chairman of the Krai Government - Minister of Agriculture and Trade Leonid Shorokhov. He thanked the villagers for their high professionalism, agricultural records in 2022, which were achieved despite the difficult harvest and sanctions pressure.
“Food security is as important today as the defense capability of the state. Russian grain growers and livestock breeders have learned how to effectively conduct agricultural production. Last year's records are an example of this. However, the situation is complicated by the low price of agricultural raw materials, the decrease in demand for agricultural products from processing enterprises, as well as the reduction in EXPORT opportunities. Finding solutions in these areas is our main task. Thanks to the attention of the Governor, the Government and the legislature in the region, the high volume of state support for the agro-industrial complex is a good help for the villagers. The result of the sowing campaign depends on the timely delivery of subsidies, which, I am sure, we will carry out with dignity as always,” Leonid Shorokhov addressed the villagers.
