The Alakol-Agro campaign has many areas of agricultural activity, one of which is the work of a breeding center to provide seed for elite breeding rams of the Kazakhstani economy.
To increase the productivity of local sheep breeds, European breeding rams were imported: Bluetexel, Suffolk and Australian breeding: Dorper. In addition, there are also sheep breeds: Kazakh coarse-haired, Akkrabas type and Edilbaevskaya. All presented rams are elite class.
A month before the start of the insemination campaign, the center conducts an inspection and weighing of the stud rams, based on the results of which the center’s scientific staff will allocate the stud rams for further breeding work.
The Suffolk breed comes from England, it is characterized by good MEAT qualities and at the same time meets the standards for fine-wool breeds. This breed, widespread in the world, and when crossed, shows good results in improving the meat qualities of Kazakh fine-wool sheep.
The Zwartbles breed, originally from Holland, is a meat and dairy breed, characterized by high fertility and good wool performance. Sheep is used on coarse-haired breeds to improve meat and dairy qualities and fertility.
The enterprise has 23 heads of purebred Texel rams. This breed comes from Holland and is considered the best in Europe in terms of meat indicators and slaughter yield. At the same time, it is a semi-fine wool breed with good wool shearing and high fertility. In addition to the native (Dutch) Texel rams, the enterprise also has a narrow-faced type, which is characterized by easy passage through the birth canal of the sheep.
The Dorper breed comes from South Africa and is also considered one of the best meat breeds. Unpretentious to maintenance and feed, resistant to external adverse factors. Sheep of this breed are polyester and have high fertility.
At the Alakol-Agro enterprise there are rams of the Edilbaev breed at the age of 16-18 months brought from the farm of Altynbek Suleymanov. These sheep were kept for grazing in very harsh climatic conditions. Suleymanov's farm has tribal status and is known throughout Kazakhstan . Since these sheep are of very good quality, the Alakol-Agro enterprise plans to use them to improve the meat qualities of the Kazakh fat-tailed breed.
