PIONERPRODUKT.by continues to publish a series of videos from the AgroExpedition “Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan”. In this video we will show bees of the Karnika breed in the apiary of Mansur Fayzullin and talk about the bee business.
At one of the points of the Mansur apiary there are about 80 bee colonies of the Karnika breed, which have a peaceful disposition, as well as a park of 150 nucs.
Small wooden boxes, similar to miniature hives, in which queen bees are placed are called nucs. The queen bee flies around in them, after which a new bee colony can be formed. You can understand that the flyby was successful by the presence of eggs in the honeycombs - the queen has begun to worm, as beekeepers say.
After the queen bee is accepted into a new place, she continues to worm. And the main task for the first season is to build up the strength of the bee colony. After 21 days the bees hatch. Within 50-60 days, the hive is almost completely replaced by bees from the new queen, thus the family is renewed. It is recommended to change the queen bee every 2-3 years.
In order for the queen bee to better settle down in the new hive, it is better to plant her during honey flow, when the bees are working and do not really watch the queen bee.
The size of the core is also very important. For example, when a queen bee of the Central Russian breed is introduced, the bees will begin to fly away, since the peculiarity of this breed is that they live only in large families.
I would like to note that at the time of filming, the farm was widely introducing instrumental insemination of bees, there will be a separate video about this
Also, in addition to selling queen bees, the farm also sells bee packages. Bee packages should be sold in the spring, not before the honey harvest, so as not to weaken the bee population. The package includes three frames with bees and one food frame.
