Brazil broke monthly pork and beef export records in September.

Brazil , the world's leading beef exporter and one of the largest pork exporters, is expanding its business with CHINA and Mexico after the US imposed a 50% tariff on a range of Brazilian products, including beef , in August .

The United States was the second largest market for Brazilian beef, but is not a significant market for pork.

According to the ABPA, a lobby group for pork producers and chicken farmers, pork exports reached 151,600 tonnes, up 25.9% from the previous year, while revenue reached a record US$368.4 million, up 29.9%.

ABPA expects this trend to continue, forecasting pork exports to reach 1.45 million tonnes in 2025, up from 1.35 million tonnes in 2024 .

Brazil also exported a record 314,700 tonnes of fresh beef in September, up 25.1% from the same month last year, according to government trade data.

Exports rose despite high US tariffs imposed in August, as increased shipments to China , Brazil's biggest beef importer, and Mexico helped offset weak US demand, according to beef producer group Abiec.

Chicken exports showed signs of recovery from disruptions caused by bird flu earlier this year, with volumes in September reaching 482,300 tonnes, the highest monthly figure in 11 months, according to trade data.

Industry leaders expect Brazilian beef exports to continue to grow through the end of the year, supported by robust demand and increased access to strategic markets.
