PionerProdukt .by continues to publish videos from the AgroExpedition “Agriculture of Kazakhstan”. In this video we will show a unique feeding area for rams. which was built at the Alakol-Agro enterprise.
In Alakol-Agro they raise not only breeding sheep and rams, but also fatten them. At the age of 4-6 months, the lambs are placed in a feedlot for fattening, where they spend about 3 months, after which they are sent for slaughter.
The feedlot was commissioned in 2022. The length of one line of the site is 250 meters, width 17 meters. The slope of the line along the entire length (250 meters) is 70 centimeters. Each line has 6 sections. Each section has a slope of 20 centimeters from each side towards the middle, so water does not accumulate at the feeding table. The concrete feeding table is 2 meters wide, of which 1.3 meters is located inside the section, so that the sheep can stand comfortably, comfortably and dryly and consume feed, and 80 centimeters is located outside the section, where the feed is distributed.
According to Baurzhan Kenesbekovich, the payback on such a site is very fast, because every week the rams kept on the site gain about 300 grams of weight. Selective weight control occurs every sixth day. Such frequent monitoring is very important in order to assess the growth dynamics and take timely measures if the growth dynamics begins to fall. Feed mixtures change during growth. The feed is distributed by a mixer-feed dispenser. The feed is moved in several times a day using a scraper on the tractor.
Water is supplied from a well through pipes that are laid underground below the freezing point. Water flows to the top of the drinking bowls through columns, the closing valve of which is also located below the freezing point. Each column is autonomous, and if any one fails, the entire system will not stop. There is one drinking bowl in two sections. The drinker itself is an open half of a pipe, without any additional heating, and has a drain valve at the bottom.
