The EU will prepare its own response to RUSSIA in connection with Putin's address, the announcement of partial mobilization and words about nuclear weapons, confirmed by the European Commission

EU member states discussed a joint response to the "reckless" decisions of the Russian authorities on Ukraine, European Commission spokesman Peter Stano said at a press conference, REUTERS reports.

“This is just another proof that [President Vladimir] Putin is not interested in peace,” he said.

Stano said Russia's actions had already caused an energy and food crisis, and Putin's "very dangerous nuclear adventure" threatened to have even greater global consequences. He called the appeal of the President of Russia to the inhabitants of the country a sign of despair.

The European Union discussed a possible response to Russia's actions, promising consequences, but did not announce new sanctions. Referendums in the Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions will not be recognized, Stano stressed, calling them fictitious.

What is known about partial mobilization in Russia Politics

The President of Russia delivered an address earlier on the morning of September 21. He said that Western countries intend to split Russia into warring regions, accusing them of "nuclear blackmail." Putin recalled that Russian troops also have similar weapons. “We use all means to protect our people. It's not a bluff. Our independence and freedom will be ensured by all available means,” he promised.

Partial mobilization in Russia involves the call of 300,000 reservists. “These are really those who: a) served; b) have a military specialty, that is, the specialty that is needed today in the armed forces; c) have combat experience,” he said.
