From February 28, all Muscovites over 60 years old or with chronic diseases will be unblocked transport cards, which were previously suspended due to the spread of CORONAVIRUS. This was announced by the mayor of the city Sergei Sobyanin in his blog.
“In Moscow, a steady decline in the incidence of “omicron” continues. Compared to the peak at the end of January, the number of new cases of covid has decreased by more than three times. The number of hospitalizations has halved, including for children by 80%," Sobyanin explained.
He added that polyclinics and hospitals are returning to work as usual and increasing the scheduled admission of patients. In addition, the mayor of Moscow continued, the requirement to transfer 30% of employees to a remote work format is becoming a recommendation.

A number of coronavirus restrictions are still in place in Moscow: visitors to theaters and museums must have a QR code and occupy no more than 70% of the seats; 80% of service industry and city employees must be vaccinated; masks must be worn on public transport.
The easing of restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus was allowed three days earlier by the HEAD of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, pointing out the features of the omicron strain. According to her, the previously taken measures were proposed in other epidemiological conditions. “And today we can talk <...> about softening a number of methodological recommendations when a period of, so to speak, epidemiological remission [in Russia] sets in,” Popova said. According to her, restrictions can be relaxed in museums, fitness centers, theaters and catering establishments, but only in those cases when it comes to the spread of the omicron strain.
