OFAS for the Republic of Tatarstan initiated a case on violation of antimonopoly law against JSC "Agrosila" due to different selling prices for SUGAR. As Andrei Rozental, deputy HEAD of the antimonopoly service, explained, the company sold sugar to retail chains at different prices during February and March.

Rosenthal said that the actions of the wholesale supplier Agrosila showed signs of creating discriminatory conditions for buyers and retailers. On this fact, a case was initiated on violation of the antimonopoly law under paragraph 1 of part 1 of Art. 13 of the Federal Law "On the basics of state regulation of trading activities".

If the fact of violation is confirmed, then it provides for administrative liability in the form of a fine of up to 5 million rubles and the issuance of an order to write off illegally obtained income to the budget.

Agrosila told RBC Tatarstan that they had not yet received any documents from antimonopoly officials, and no violations were allowed. “The holding has not received any official documents. The enterprises included in the structure of the holding did not commit any violations. We hope that the proceedings and the decision will be objective,” the press service of the company said.

On March 15, the Antimonopoly Service warned of the inadmissibility of creating an artificial shortage of sugar to maintain rush demand and inflated prices, and said that it would take measures against violators of the law.
